"Depth Pieces": What is FSU's recruiting strategy under Norvell and Fall Camp showing Quality Roster Depth for 2022 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2106

Fall camp at Florida State is already in full swing and the fellas here at Locked on Seminoles, your favorite daily Florida State Seminoles sports podcast, are back in season with their 5 days a week worth of content and kicking things back off with our mandatory mailbag Monday.  Today, Drake and Max are here to answer the questions from you the listener. First off, they discuss the recruiting when it comes to the skill positions and in particular the Quarterback. The guys wrestle with whether or not a blue chip wide receive would come here? Why that may be changing with the visits of players such as Hykeem Williams and Jalen Brown? Most importantly, how integral is AJ Duffy to the future of this program? Next, fellas talk about the recruiting strategy/geographical footprint being employed by Norvell and company. Seemingly striking out on Florida prospects more often than not, what do the fellas think should happen moving forward. Does Max want to employ purely an approach to the regions around Tallahassee extending into Georgia? How do we stretch out into these recurring battlegrounds and what is really going down in Miami with the Hurricanes recent recruiting success? Lastly, the dynamic duo talk about the depth of this team across the board. How finally entering into year 3 under Mike Norvell that this will be his deepest team heading into a college football. Quite possibly a position group that may turn heads despite the lack of scholarship athletes: it may just be the Quarterbacks anchored by Jordan Travis and supported by both AJ Duffy and Tate Rodemaker.  As always, we here at Locked On Seminoles want to thank each and every single one of you for making us your first listen each and every single day and all of your love and support.  "The Boys of Fall": FSU Fall Camp kicks off, Jordan Travis' due for another improvement and Defensive Line Expectations | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2020

Finally closing the door on the dog days of summer, Fall Camp is right at our doiorstep and no one is more fired up than your folks here at Locked Seminoles, your favorite daily Florida State Seminoles sports podcast, to get you primed and ready to go for the 2022 college football schedule.  Today, Max and Drake are pumped up for fall camp and want to touch on what they want to hear, see and expect form the Seminoles this camp staring with the unquestioned QB1 Jordan Travis. With this being the first camp in his career where he is in the driver’s seat when it comes ot the starting job, what will that do for Jordan Travis’ development during what many be the most important fall camp of Mike Norvell’s FSU career?  While Jordan Travis is the focal point of the offense, what abut the weapons around him? Is Cam McDonald gone be a focal point of the offense? Will Mycah Pittman and Johnny Wilson be solid options as they come in form Oregon and Arizona State respectively? Then on the defensive side of the ball, do we need to hear more about these young defensive backs led by Omarion Cooper and Kevin Knowles and can Azaryeah Thomas breakthrough into the rotation a true freshman and will this defensive line live up to their elite billing as Fabien Lovett is a man on a mission headed to 2022.  Lastly, we wrap up with some hot takes as it is Max’s turn to give his opinion. Will he finally commit to the JT13 Heisman campaign that we all expect out of him? Does he have something nice to say about the skill position coaches when it comes to recruiting or production? Defensively, does he see a new name stand out or simply not live up to the billing? As always, we want to thank each and every single one of you for making Locked On Seminoles your first listen each and every single day.  Florida State Conference Realignment Myth Busting. How FSU Can Close the Revenue Gap if Stuck in the ACC? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2336

As things stand, FSU is stuck in the ACC until 2036. There are many theories circulating about how the Seminoles could leave for the Big 10 or the SEC. Most of these are based on pure speculation and wishful thinking. In what is hopefully the final conference realignment episode of the offseason, Max and Dave play "Mythbusters" with the various exit strategies that have been raised in the Locked On Seminoles Mailbag this past week. Max explains why unequal revenue sharing could be a short-term band-aide to keep the top schools in the ACC competitive. The two discuss why adding more teams to the ACC does not help Florida State leave the conference. Addressing expansion, Max and Dave discuss how many schools could add more revenue to the ACC than they would take thus being a net addition to the conference. Unfortunately, there aren't many. Finally, they examine the jailbreak strategy discussing if enough ACC schools could find profitable landing spots in other conferences to make a mass exodus feasible.  "Silver Lining": Florida State Loses 2023 QB Chris Parson but 4-Star Offensive Tackle Lucas Simmons is All In on FSU | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2392

The Florida State Seminoles have suffered yet another QB decommitment. After Sam Howell, Luke Altmeyer, Nicco Marchiol, and others, the Noles were hoping to not get hurt again. Unfortunately, four-star QB recruit Chris Parson made the FSU faithful's fears a reality. Chris Parson had expressed to staff that he wanted to be the only quarterback on Mike Norvell and Co's recruiting board and was unhappy when offers were extended to Brock Glenn and Ricky Collins. The coaches felt that one QB couldn't fill their need for depth in the position group and the partnership between Parson and FSU failed to launch. Fortunately, this news comes in the same week as top 150 prospect, four-star offensive tackle, Lucas Simmons announced his commitment to Florida State. Lucas is a hulking 6'7, 300lb big man with a unique brand of athleticism developed by him growing up in Europe. The son of Able Simmons, former University of Oklahoma offensive lineman, Lucas is a huge addition for the 2023 and another feather in the cap of Offensive Line Coach Alex Atkins. Coach Atkins continues to transform the OL room from FSU's greatest liability to a legitimate strength of the program. Finally, Max is joined by new correspondent Hunter Steele to discuss Lucas Simmons, Johnny Wilson and the rest of the wide receiver room, and give his impression from campus of how winning on the field can swing recruiting moment.  "Homecoming": If FSU doesn't improve under Norvell, is there a homecoming for Mark Stoops and Deion Sanders at HC? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2391

The off-season is for hypotheticals and the fellas here at Locked on Semino9les, your favorite Florida State Seminoles daily sports podcast put on their athletics director hats by picking a new head coach in this fun, but possibly forward thinking, game of what-if. The triumvirate puts themselves in the situation of what were to happen if Mike Norvell is let go before this season's end./ The guys have their own trio of coaches each and spend the episode giving the pros and cons of each. Does Lane Kiffin bring the high-flying offense that Florida State fans have longed to see for quite sometime? Does Dave Aranda bring back the brining stout defenses of the Micky Andrews led corps that is sorely missed during the Seminoles heyday?  Will there be a homecoming for one Mark Stoops, while not the sexiest hire has made a name for himself as a top tier coach at a basketball school in the SEC East? Will Coach Prime actually be a viable candidate for his alma mater after his recent success at Jackson State? Finally, is the answer right in front of us in house with Coach Alex Atkins.  As always, we here at Locked On Seminmoles want to thank each and every single one for your for the love and support you show uis each and every single day.  "Insanity": 2024 DB Desmond Ricks and Florida State done & how Mike Norvell needs to fix FSU Football Recruiting | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2223

Tell us if you've heard this before? Top defensive back recruit states that Florida State is no longer their top option. Well, what if the fellas here at Locked On Seminoles kicked it up a notch and told you that FSU isn't even a top 10 option for what was not only a can't miss prospect but one who was on the verge of committing not too long ago. Well, Max and Drake of your favorite Florida State Seminoles daily sports podcast are here to chop it up about the state of recruiting under Mike Norvell.  Desmond Ricks was to be the bell cow of a class that was in a huge need of a pick me up, just a few days removed form the commitment of much needed defensive end Keldrick Faulk and before the potential landing of Lucas Simmons, the 5-star defensive back of the 2024 class stated that Florida State has not even kept up with him over the passing months. The boys address what they make of this, what they are hearing around the program and also what they thing needs to be changed when it comes to recruiting cause as of right now, things needs to be shaken up a bit for the Seminoles staff. To wrap up today, Mandatory Mailbag Monday concludes with some last minute touches on other impol9cations when it comes to moving conferences and what that would mean not only for the team but what should be the fan perception/expectations that comes with conference realignment. This surely is not an episode you want to miss.  As always, we here at Locked On Seminoles thank each and every single one of you for the love and support.  Would Joining the SEC Actually be an Equalizer for FSU? What SEC Admission Would Mean for Mike Norvell | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1761

Social media has been in a frenzy with reports that FSU is being considered for membership by the SEC. Florida State fans seem to see this as a solution to many of the Noles' problems. However, Max and Drake's discussion of a hypothetical FSU admission to the SEC concludes with words of warning; the Seminoles must find ways to bring in more money from sources other than TV revenue if they expect to compete with SEC powers like Alabama and Georgia. Today's episode embraces the idea that Florida State is going to the SEC and Max and Drake examine what that would look like. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

FSU vs Miami Recruiting; Four Star Offensive Tackle Lucas Simmons Sets Commitment Date; Realignment | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2764

Four Star Offensive Tackle Lucas Simmons from Clearwater by way of Sweden has decided to announce his commitment on Monday, July 11th. Dave and Max discuss what securing the commitment of a top Offensive Line prospect would mean for the Seminoles. They also talk about how much weight they put into verbal commitments in the wake of the notable signing day flips Florida State has experienced. Finally, they wrap up the recruiting talk by pondering how FSU fans should view recruiting compared to their in-state rivals. They discuss why what Miami is willing to pay for a QB may not be representative of that player's value and why FSU fans need to Next, the conversation turns to conference realignment as the two catch up for the first time since USC and UCLA announced their intentions to leave the PAC 12 for the Big 10. First, they set the table with the need to be weary of heavily repeated but unsubstantiated Twitter rumors. Dave worries that FSU risks missing the realignment boat if they do not act soon. Max believes that FSU is too important of a brand to miss out and that the ACC exodus can only occur with Florida State so no ACC team can move without them also leaving the conference.  Four Star Defensive End Keldric Faulk Commits to Florida State; Why FSU Should Follow USC and UCLA to Big 10 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1908

Florida State Football added four star Defensive End Keldric Faulk to their 2023 recruiting class on Tuesday afternoon. The Seminoles beat out in-state Auburn and rival Clemson to secure a commitment from the 2023 class's 86th ranked overall player. Max and Drake break down why this is a huge win for the Noles. Not only does Keldric project to be an important piece on the field, but the commitment of Faulk shows that Mike Norvell and Co still have what it takes to compete with national powers on the recruiting trail. Next, the duo give their thoughts on Keldric Faulk as a prospect. They discuss his highlight tape and the athleticism he displays by playing both defensive end and wide receiver while also playing basketball. Finally, the hosts begin their discussion on conference realignment. There is a lot of chatter among the FSU fanbase about Florida State going to the SEC. However, Max and Drake think the Big 10 would make more sense. There is more money to be made in the Big 10 based on current projections, the team would gain more national exposure, and they both have reason to believe FSU would be a better fit in the Big 10 based on academic standards.  Why New ACC Schedule is Great for Florida State Seminoles Football | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1975

The ACC has dropped division to the benefit of FSU. Florida State will play Clemson, University of Miami, and Syracuse every year and five other conference opponents in a format that guarantees they play each team in the conference every other year. Without divisions, Florida State now has a better shot at going to the ACC Championship Game each year. Going forward, the Conference Champion will be decided between the two best teams, period. The guys share their thoughts on this new format. They talk about the implications of the Seminoles having the three permanent opponents they do. They also look at which teams in the ACC got good pods and which may have gotten a less than favorable draw. Finally, they examine how past seasons would have been different under this format and if this will bring more parity or just solidify the dominance of the conference's top teams. Here at Locked On Seminoles, your favorite daily Florida State Seminoles sports podcast, we answer just those questions.  Today, Max & Drake start off with the first three games on the 2021 schedule.  "The Floor Is Raised": FSU Football & Chris Parson Going Separate Ways, OT Recruiting & how the 2022 roster brings hope | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1980

Chris Parson is the bell cow for the 2023 FSU recruiting class and it seems as if the writing is on the wall when it comes to him ending up in Tallahassee come signing day. The fellas at Locked On Seminoles are here to give their thoughts on the matter on your favorite Florida State Seminoles daily sports podcast.  With it seeming as a matter of if and not when in regards to Chris Parson's decommitment, what does this mean for the staff? Is it a symptom of lackluster recruiting or simply just another piece of evidence when it comes to Mike Norvell and handling the QB room? Afterwards, the fellas look to the positive as the offensive line is on the verge potentially adding Jaszton Turentine, a vital depth piece from the University of South Carolina.  Lastly, the fellas take a question from the listeners and look to see how the current makeup of the 2022 roster would fare against last seasons schedule. Would the teams improve overall in the win column and if so how much? Would there be any games that may be flipped from a win to a loss, and how would the team end up overall with a new makeshift roster? All in all, this 2022 roster has a lot of reason for hope for thje coming season and Drake & Dave give you a few reasons why.  "Let Him Loose": FSU's Jammie Robinson on preseason awards list & how the Seminoles offense can support Jordan Travis | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1901

Phil Steele’s All American and All-ACC selections are out and Florida State has representation on not one but both of these lists and the fellas here at Locked On Seminoles, your favorite daily Florida State Seminoles sports podcast, is her and ready to give their thoughts.  First, Jammie Robinson is the lone representative for the Noles on the pre-season all American list after a quality first year with the Noles. While the fellas think this is already deserving, they explain why they think that this is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the talented Defensive back leading DBU this upcoming 2022 season. Further on, the fellas have All-ACC representation on both sides of the ball with some familiar faces and even a representative form the special teams unit, I know Dave was as shocked as we were when special teams got a shout out. Dave explains why Alex Mastromanno may actually be potentially the most game changing punter in the conference, why he is pleasantly surprised to see Oregon Transfer Mycah Pittman on the list and who he thinks was not only a surprising snub, but someone he thinks could play themselves onto the list at season’s end.  Wrapping up today’s show the fellas look towards the strongest position groups on the team as well as the position group that may be the most surprising. Why does Drake think that the big fellas in the trenches may shock some and actually potentially be in the top of the conference with their play, why both of the guys feel the running backs are going to run up and down on their opponents and why Dave is going out on a limb and stating this is finally the year that the linebackers show us something.  All this segues great into what needs to happen around Jordan Travis for him to hit that strangely daunting, but truly attainable 3000+pasing yards season. Who in the wideouts needs to step up? Is another player not often mentioned need to finally breakthrough? Does Mike Norvell finally need to get out of his way and let Jordan loose on opponents. All that and more on today’s episode!  As always, we like to thank each and every single one of you for making Locked On Seminoles your first listen each and every single day.
