God Can Find You Anywhere | File Type: | Duration: Unknown

It is at the point when the darkness seems most dark that the light will shine most brightly. You don’t go to the secular college campus today to be encouraged as a Christian. But there are signs that God’s gospel is moving everywhere. God is not bound and his reach is not short; the message of the Gospel can reach anyone, anywhere. Coming Out Christian by Adira Polite

A Brief Theology of Thanksgiving | File Type: | Duration: Unknown

There is never a day that we can said that God has not given us what we need. He sustains us to the very end, to the New Jerusalem. We’re thankful to God for his creating of us. The human being is fundamentally humbled by seeing that we are not the apex of things; humans are also God-made specks of dust and therefore we have a reason to be thankful. We are also thankful for salvation. If we have Christ in salvation, we recognize that we have no need of anything else. God has also sustained us; he hasn’t saved us and then stepped away. He continues to walk with us all the way to glory.

God Loves Scholarship | File Type: | Duration: Unknown

Evangelicals believe that scholarship has value because God thinks. Scholarship is grounded in the fact that God himself is a thinking God and in his kindness he has given mankind the ability to think. We glorify God when we think after him and anyone who wants to obey God needs to think. Awakening the Evangelical Mind by Owen Strachan

The Easternizing of the West | File Type: | Duration: Unknown

If you want to win the NBA Dunk contest, what do you do? Focus on meditation, visualization, and engage in positive affirmation. People are taking religious practices, scrubbing them of their religious content, and putting them to work for an enhanced life. Our culture is still very interested in ostensibly religious things. As Christians, we have stake in all of this. Christians believe in meditation but our meditation has a real object, God and His Word. Our meditation is not centered upon ourselves or our thoughts. We think it is most profitable to meditate deeply on God and his characteristics and promises. The one who enjoys perfect peace is the one who is stayed on God. Do we find peace in centering on positive thoughts? Or by thinking about God? We need training in God-focusedness. The key to a happy life and a fulfilled vocation is following and obeying. Join Dr. Owen Strachan on today’s City of God podcast as he engages InterVarsity’s recent stance against the culture and the Church’s marginalization. InterVarsity went on record calling their staff to hold to the biblical sexual ethic. They have stood and and have taken tremendous fire for it and they are to be commended for their stance on biblical sexuality. The church must recognize today that the sexual revolution stops for no man. The culture has made it clear that you either accept its revolution or be penalized. Now is the time for Evangelicals to stand up and be counted.
