Sovereign Nations show

Sovereign Nations

Summary: Welcome to The Causes of Things, a podcast from Sovereign Nations. The 1st century BC poet Virgil stated, “Blessed is he who understands the hidden causes of things.” This statement is as brilliant today as it was 2,000 years ago. Primarily narrated by Michael O'Fallon, The Causes of Things is didactic in nature featuring a collection of teaching series & lectures, some of which are recorded specifically for this podcast, and some that are from public lectures. The show will offer discussion and information concerning a variety of complex ideas: The philosophical presuppositions behind the ideas that are aggressively shaping our world, the answers to those challenging ideas, and the necessary historical, hierarchical structure of the world as represented through the lens of Judeo Christian belief.

Psalm 6, English Standard Version O Lord, Deliver My Life To the choirmaster: with stringed instruments; according to The Sheminith. A Psalm of David. 1) O Lord, rebuke me not in your anger, nor discipline me in your wrath. 2) Be gracious to me, O Lord, for I am languishing; heal me, O Lord, for my bones are troubled. 3) My soul also is greatly troubled. But you, O Lord—how long? 4) Turn, O Lord, deliver my life; save me for the sake of your steadfast love. 5) For in death there is no remembrance of you; in Sheol who will give you praise? 6) I am weary with my moaning; every night I flood my bed with tears; I drench my couch with my weeping. 7) My eye wastes away because of grief; it grows weak because of all my foes. 8) Depart from me, all you workers of evil, for the Lord has heard the sound of my weeping. 9) The Lord has heard my plea; the Lord accepts my prayer. 10) All my enemies shall be ashamed and greatly troubled; they shall turn back and be put to shame in a moment.

John 17, English Standard Version The High Priestly Prayer 1) When Jesus had spoken these words, he lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, “Father, the hour has come; glorify your Son that the Son may glorify you, 2) since you have given him authority over all flesh, to give eternal life to all whom you have given him. 3) And this is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent. 4) I glorified you on earth, having accomplished the work that you gave me to do. 5) And now, Father, glorify me in your own presence with the glory that I had with you before the world existed. 6) “I have manifested your name to the people whom you gave me out of the world. Yours they were, and you gave them to me, and they have kept your word. 7) Now they know that everything that you have given me is from you. 8) For I have given them the words that you gave me, and they have received them and have come to know in truth that I came from you; and they have believed that you sent me. 9) I am praying for them. I am not praying for the world but for those whom you have given me, for they are yours. 10) All mine are yours, and yours are mine, and I am glorified in them. 11) And I am no longer in the world, but they are in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, keep them in your name, which you have given me, that they may be one, even as we are one. 12) While I was with them, I kept them in your name, which you have given me. I have guarded them, and not one of them has been lost except the son of destruction, that the Scripture might be fulfilled. 13) But now I am coming to you, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have my joy fulfilled in themselves. 14) I have given them your word, and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. 15) I do not ask that you take them out of the world, but that you keep them from the evil one. 16) They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. 17) Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth. 18) As you sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world. 19) And for their sake I consecrate myself, that they also may be sanctified in truth. 20) “I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, 21) that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me. 22) The glory that you have given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one, 23) I in them and you in me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that you sent me and loved them even as you loved me. 24) Father, I desire that they also, whom you have given me, may be with me where I am, to see my glory that you have given me because you loved me before the foundation of the world. 25) O righteous Father, even though the world does not know you, I know you, and these know that you have sent me. 26) I made known to them your name, and I will continue to make it known, that the love with which you have loved me may be in them, and I in them.”

Luke 15 English Standard Version (ESV) The Parable of the Lost Sheep 1) Now the tax collectors and sinners were all drawing near to hear him. 2) And the Pharisees and the scribes grumbled, saying, “This man receives sinners and eats with them.” 3) So he told them this parable: 4) “What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he has lost one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the open country, and go after the one that is lost, until he finds it? 5) And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. 6) And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and his neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep that was lost.’ 7) Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance. The Parable of the Lost Coin 8) “Or what woman, having ten silver coins, if she loses one coin, does not light a lamp and sweep the house and seek diligently until she finds it? 9) And when she has found it, she calls together her friends and neighbors, saying, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found the coin that I had lost.’ 10) Just so, I tell you, there is joy before the angels of God over one sinner who repents.” The Parable of the Prodigal Son 11) And he said, “There was a man who had two sons. 12) And the younger of them said to his father, ‘Father, give me the share of property that is coming to me.’ And he divided his property between them. 13) Not many days later, the younger son gathered all he had and took a journey into a far country, and there he squandered his property in reckless living. 14) And when he had spent everything, a severe famine arose in that country, and he began to be in need. 15) So he went and hired himself out to one of the citizens of that country, who sent him into his fields to feed pigs. 16) And he was longing to be fed with the pods that the pigs ate, and no one gave him anything. 17) “But when he came to himself, he said, ‘How many of my father's hired servants have more than enough bread, but I perish here with hunger! 18) I will arise and go to my father, and I will say to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you. 19) I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Treat me as one of your hired servants.”’ 20) And he arose and came to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt compassion, and ran and embraced him and kissed him. 21) And the son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’ 22) But the father said to his servants, ‘Bring quickly the best robe, and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet. 23) And bring the fattened calf and kill it, and let us eat and celebrate. 24) For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found.’ And they began to celebrate. 25) “Now his older son was in the field, and as he came and drew near to the house, he heard music and dancing. 26) And he called one of the servants and asked what these things meant. 27) And he said to him, ‘Your brother has come, and your father has killed the fattened calf, because he has received him back safe and sound.’ 28) But he was angry and refused to go in. His father came out and entreated him, 29) but he answered his father, ‘Look, these many years I have served you, and I never disobeyed your command, yet you never gave me a young goat, that I might celebrate with my friends. 30) But when this son of yours came, who has devoured your property with prostitutes, you killed the fattened calf for him!’ 31) And he said to him, ‘Son, you are always with me, and all that is mine is yours. 32) It was fitting to celebrate and be glad, for this your brother was dead, and is alive; he was lost, and is found.’”

 Matthew 7 | Sovereign Strength for Today | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:07:28

Matthew 7, English Standard Version Judging Others 1) “Judge not, that you be not judged. 2) For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you. 3) Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? 4) Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye? 5) You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye. 6) “Do not give dogs what is holy, and do not throw your pearls before pigs, lest they trample them underfoot and turn to attack you. Ask, and It Will Be Given 7) “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8) For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. 9) Or which one of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? 10) Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent? 11) If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him! The Golden Rule 12) “So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets. 13) “Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. 14) For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few. A Tree and Its Fruit 15) “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. 16) You will recognize them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? 17) So, every healthy tree bears good fruit, but the diseased tree bears bad fruit. 18) A healthy tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a diseased tree bear good fruit. 19) Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20) Thus you will recognize them by their fruits. I Never Knew You 21) “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22) On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ 23) And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’ Build Your House on the Rock 24) “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25) And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. 26) And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. 27) And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.” The Authority of Jesus 28) And when Jesus finished these sayings, the crowds were astonished at his teaching, 29) for he was teaching them as one who had authority, and not as their scribes.

Hindsight And Foresight | The Causes of Things Ep. 17 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:56:11

Building upon the reliability of objective standards, Michael O'Fallon looks back with hindsight through the lens of "what we know to be true" and what we have been misled to believe over the past 6 months in regards to Covid-19 and the overall effects of the response to the virus on western civilization. Using the same lens of veracity in hindsight, Mr. O'Fallon then looks forward to what is to come in the days ahead as the reflexive response to Covid-19 continues. https://sovereignnations.com Support Sovereign Nations: paypal.me/sovnations patreon.com/sovnations Follow Sovereign Nations: sovereignnations.com/subscribe facebook.com/SovereignNat... twitter.com/SovNations youtube.com/SovereignNations instagram.com/sovnations/ minds.com/sovnations parler.com/profile/sovnations © 2020 Sovereign Nations. Matthew 4, English Standard Version The Temptation of Jesus 1) Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. 2) And after fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. 3) And the tempter came and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, command these stones to become loaves of bread.” 4) But he answered, "It is written, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.'" 5) Then the devil took him to the holy city and set him on the pinnacle of the temple 6) and said to him, "If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, for it is written, 'He will command his angels concerning you,' and 'On their hands they will bear you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone.'" 7) Jesus said to him, "Again it is written, 'You shall not put the Lord your God to the test.'" 8) Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. 9) And he said to him, "All these I will give you, if you will fall down and worship me." 10) Then Jesus said to him, "Be gone, Satan! For it is written, 'You shall worship the Lord your God and him only shall you serve.'" 11) Then the devil left him, and behold, angels came and were ministering to him. Jesus Begins His Ministry 12) Now when he heard that John had been arrested, he withdrew into Galilee. 13) And leaving Nazareth he went and lived in Capernaum by the sea, in the territory of Zebulun and Naphtali, 14 so that what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah might be fulfilled: 15) "The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, the way of the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles— 16) the people dwelling in darkness have seen a great light, and for those dwelling in the region and shadow of death, on them a light has dawned." 17) From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." Jesus Calls the First Disciples 18) While walking by the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon (who is called Peter) and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen. 19) And he said to them, "Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men." 20) Immediately they left their nets and followed him. 21) And going on from there he saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets, and he called them. 22) Immediately they left the boat and their father and followed him. Jesus Ministers to Great Crowds 23) And he went throughout all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction among the people. 24) So his fame spread throughout all Syria, and they brought him all the sick, those afflicted with various diseases and pains, those oppressed by demons, those having seizures, and paralytics, and he healed them. 25) And great crowds followed him from Galilee and the Decapolis, and from Jerusalem and Judea, and from beyond the Jordan.

 Psalm 5 | Sovereign Strength for Today | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:04:33

Psalm 5, English Standard Version Lead Me in Your Righteousness To the choirmaster: for the flutes. A Psalm of David. 1)Give ear to my words, O Lord; consider my groaning. 2 Give attention to the sound of my cry, my King and my God, for to you do I pray. 3) O Lord, in the morning you hear my voice; in the morning I prepare a sacrifice for you and watch. 4) For you are not a God who delights in wickedness; evil may not dwell with you. 5) The boastful shall not stand before your eyes; you hate all evildoers. 6) You destroy those who speak lies; the Lord abhors the bloodthirsty and deceitful man. 7) But I, through the abundance of your steadfast love, will enter your house. I will bow down toward your holy temple in the fear of you. 8) Lead me, O Lord, in your righteousness because of my enemies; make your way straight before me. 9) For there is no truth in their mouth; their inmost self is destruction; their throat is an open grave; they flatter with their tongue. 10) Make them bear their guilt, O God; let them fall by their own counsels; because of the abundance of their transgressions cast them out, for they have rebelled against you. 11) But let all who take refuge in you rejoice; let them ever sing for joy, and spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may exult in you. 12) For you bless the righteous, O Lord; you cover him with favor as with a shield.

 Psalm 4 | Sovereign Strength for Today | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:04:03

Psalm 4, English Standard Version (ESV) Answer Me When I Call To the choirmaster: with stringed instruments. A Psalm of David. 1) Answer me when I call, O God of my righteousness! You have given me relief when I was in distress. Be gracious to me and hear my prayer! 2) O men, how long shall my honor be turned into shame? How long will you love vain words and seek after lies? Selah 3) But know that the Lord has set apart the godly for himself; the Lord hears when I call to him. 4) Be angry, and do not sin; ponder in your own hearts on your beds, and be silent. Selah 5) Offer right sacrifices, and put your trust in the Lord. 6) There are many who say, “Who will show us some good? Lift up the light of your face upon us, O Lord!” 7) You have put more joy in my heart than they have when their grain and wine abound. 8) In peace I will both lie down and sleep; for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.
