Jeremy Newhouse is Vice President and CFO of MATTER- an international NGO committed to helping expand access to health in the neediest parts of the world. Jeremy has traveled and worked in 50 countries. He joined MATTER in 2013 following extensive international experience working in Congo and Tanzania in education, microfinance initiatives, and entrepreneurship development. While studying for his MBA at the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota, Jeremy was a founding member of Microfinance Alliance that promoted microfinance awareness throughout Minneapolis and at the UofM. In his role as board member for Microfinance Alliance, Jeremy spoke at the 2008 Peace Prize Forum along with Nobel Laureate Muhammad Yunus and other dignitaries. While pursuing his MBA, Jeremy was a broker and field trainer for Edward Jones financial services. Jeremy was recruited to St. Cloud State University where he became the first director of the SCSU Micro Loan Program- assisting SCSU in design and development of the first university run microloan program in the Midwest. Jeremy holds a B.A. in Divinity and Masters in Business Administration. Jeremy currently lives in Minneapolis with his wife Jessica, sons Orion and Oscar, and daughters Selah and Keziah. Since 2016 Dominique has been responsible for the management and overall performance of PtD, a broad coalition of governments and international, regional and national organizations working together to raise the profile of the health supply chain workforce as a key strategic area of health systems. Prior to PtD she worked for ten years on the HIV/AIDS supply chain for John Snow International (JSI) at the Partnership for Supply Chain Management (PFSCM), which procured and delivered essential lifesaving medicines and related commodities to HIV/AIDS programs around the world. Dominique also has experience working with multilateral development agencies; the International Food Policy Research Institute, the Inter-American Development Bank, and the International Finance Corporation. She has both an MBA in International Business Administration and a Master's degree in Nutrition. She is fluent in English, Spanish and Dutch. She became part of EALgreen in 1982 when she was chosen to become the first low-income scholarship recipient to receive the gift of a college education. With the EAL scholarship, Claudia earned a degree in Economics and worked in the financial sector, commodities trading, and credit risk management, moving on to management consulting under a selective program designed to lend private sector expertise to the City of Chicago government. EAL was founded on the principle of "paying it forward" and was engineered as a proof-of-concept on the importance of social and environmental impact in the business world. It's mission is education. EAL exchanges excess inventory for scholarships using supply chain as the solution for reallocating resources between two sectors: businesses and higher education. Twenty-five years ago, Claudia was recruited to return to EAL as Executive Director and in 2016, she was named CEO. This full-circle story has been professionally rewarding as she has served on more than 10 boards of directors, including Chicago NPR affiliate WBEZ, traveled the world, and now she is on Supply Chain Now. Chuck Easley brings more than 25 years of corporate & consulting experience to the table. Currently, he is a program manager and instructor at the Georgia Tech Supply Chain & Logistics Institute, where his learnings and expertise help enhance, develop, customize and deliver programs and courses for the organization. He also leads his own firm, EPIC Performance Group LLC, focused on strategy execution of supply chain optimization and design, business transformation, operations improvement, and executive coaching. Previously, Chuck has served as the Senior Director of Labor, Engineering and Process Optimization at Walgreens – – where he was focused on improving the pharmacy operation as unprecedented clinical services where installed due to the Affordable Care Act. “Michael Darden: A Passion for Digital Freight Matching and So Much More” Supply Chain Now Episode 368 This episode of Supply Chain Now features Michael Darden. Michael began work in NY at his Godfather’s Auto Parts Store when he was 11. He worked there until he was 15 when he moved from NY to Georgia. Michael worked through high school as a delivery driver. When he began working for Coca-Cola after college at Auburn University, he fell in love with logistics. Michael’s 10 year career with Coca-Cola culminated with the job as Operations Manager for the 1996 Coca-Cola Olympic Warehouse. After the Olympics, he served as Operations Manager for several companies implementing WMS system. In 2003, he was hired as a consultant to work with the internet and trucking by FreightRate, which became Power2Ship. He was the President and wrote the patent for a 'Dynamic and predictive information system and method for shipping assets and transport.' He was then hired by Innovative Processing Solutions, dba TransMarkets. Transmarkets was purchased by US Express and they he helped build TransCard, a debit card processor for paying drivers remotely. In 2008, Michael changed industries and focused on the special education community. He founded A Deeper View and licensed a technology from George Mason University to commercialize. In 2010, A Deeper View entered into a reseller and service relationship with Dartfish USA, a video analysis technology. In 2018, Michael formed Block Knowhow to start working with Blockchain for supply chain use-cases. In 2019, he purchased the patent that he invented many years before, and formed DFM Data Corp to monetize the patent and serve the fledgling DFM industry. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a degree in meteorology, he spent 18 years on Wall Street in the commodity divisions within Citigroup focusing on risk management in agriculture, energy, and the financial sectors. At the end of Jon’s tenure, he was Chief Meteorologist at Citigroup. At Citigroup, he was recruited by Chesapeake Energy in 2003 and spent 10 years as Chief Meteorologist responsible for monitoring global weather/climate and its impact on energy and agriculture. Since 2014, Jon has been Chief Meteorologist at Riskpulse. In 2015, Jon was given the prestigious Award for the Outstanding Contribution to the Advance of Applied Meteorology at the national AMS (American Meteorological Society) meeting for a distinguished career in applying meteorological and climatological knowledge to the energy, industrial, and agricultural sectors. In 2017, Jon was awarded the Kenneth C. Spengler Award for outstanding vision to advance to role of meteorology in the new energy economy and outstanding leadership of the AMS Energy Committee and its conference. Jon was founding member and first chair of the AMS Energy Committee starting in 2004.
