In her role, she provides strategic leadership for people & culture initiatives for Panera’s 19 fresh dough manufacturing facilities, sourcing, quality & commercialization, and international business departments. Roberts serves as Branch Manager at Becker Logistics – a third party logistics company based in Glendale Heights, IL. He has spent 31 of his 35 years of business experience in management and leadership positions. Roberts spent the first ten years of his professional career at the Canyon Lake Property Owners Association in California, then later worked for Gottschalks department store in San Bernardino and was promoted twice within two weeks to the role of shipping/receiving manager. In 1997 he spent five years with Roadway Express in operations management. During his tenure at Roadway, he successfully completed his Bachelor of Science in Business Management from University of Phoenix. Roberts ran his own company as a truck broker/agent for Freedom Express. He then joined JTS in April 2003 as an agent in the Fresno office. Bringing a small book of business to the company, he quickly developed the dairy division within two months and as a result was promoted in 2003 to Director of Sales for the Dairy division. He left JTS in 2009 as VP of Sales and Marketing and then in 2010 he Open RLS a $65M 3PL & RTC a 20-truck operation. In 2012 Roberts sold the two companies and worked as VP of RMX then in 2016 he opened a consulting firm. Roberts successfully turned around 5 companies & a few M&A due diligence projects including a 100-unit trucking company and helped 3 start ups before joining Becker Logistics. Don discusses his career successes starting with a degree in industrial engineering at the University of Alabama, founding and selling a company, and his impact on the supply chain community in Atlanta and beyond. Featuring: Donald Ratliff is a Regents' Professor Emeritus in Stewart School of Industrial & Systems Engineering at Georgia Tech and Co-Executive Director of the Georgia Tech Panama Logistics Innovation & Research Center. Dr. Ratliff's research and logistics competencies include intermodal network design, supply chain integration, delivery strategies, cross docking, vender managed resupply, real-time routing, shipment planning, logistics performance measurement, and container port operations. During the past 20 years, Dr. Ratliff has supervised one of the largest logistics research programs in the world. Concepts developed by him and his colleagues have been implemented in decision support systems for logistics network design, shipment planning, production scheduling, and vehicle routing. He is widely published and has given more than 150 invited logistics presentations. Dr. Ratliff also has extensive logistics consulting experience and was a co-founder of CAPS Logistics, a company specializing in flexible logistics software. Dr. Ratliff currently serves as the chair of the World Economic Forum's Global Agenda Council on the Future of Logistics & Supply Chains.Dr. Ratliff was elected to the National Academy of Engineering in 1996 and is a fellow of the Institute of Industrial Engineers. In this episode, David Cox, President of ARCOP discusses the initiative and how ARCOP takes a true partnership approach to suppliers and strives to ‘be the customer of choice’. Featuring: David Cox joined ARCOP as President in 2005 after having served as Vice President of Procurement and Supply Management at Darden Restaurants. Prior to Darden, he held supply chain positions at Bruegger’s Bagels, RTM Restaurant Group, Restaurant Services, Inc. (Burger King), and UFPC (KFC). David is a board of trustees member of the Arby’s Foundation and serves as Co-Chair on the National Council of Chain Restaurants’ Food Supply Chain committee. In addition, David is a board member of the National Restaurant Association (NRA) Executive Study Group on Supply Chain Management. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management and Administration from Bradley University, and received his MBA from Bellarmine University. He is a certified APICS instructor and is one of the rare few holding CPIM-F, CLTD-F and CSCP-F designations.
