The Palouse region is simply amazing, and very popular. In this episode Brian Pex joins me to talk about the beautiful rolling hills, using a polarizer to emphasize the landscape and capturing the vibrant canola fields. Oh, and don't forget the strip farming and crop dusters! :) Thanks, Brian, for sharing your experience and photos with us!

Today I'm talking with Ashley Tinker who lives in the Provence region of France. It's a great discussion about all the great opportunities photographers have in the area. We talk about lavender, cyanotypes, markets and a host of other things. Enjoy!

The redwoods area that we’ll be looking at today is in CA, but just barely. It’s right on the border with Oregon and a great place to use as your base, if you’re not camping, is Crescent City. It’s about 12 miles south of the OR border. There’s plenty of hotel options. The weather is generally mild, if you’re used to OR coast weather then you know what to expect. In short, it’s somewhat mild in the summer topping out at about 80 degrees and generally windy. Read more: http://www.brentbergherm.com/episode/redwoods/

A sobering discussion about the March of the living. When reading from their website it’s an annual educational program, bringing individuals from around the world to Poland and Israel to study the history of the Holocaust and to examine the roots of prejudice, intolerance and hatred. Some of the discussion could be disturbing to some listeners. Images discussed: a. Plac Zgody in Krakow. b. Disinfection room in Majdanek Concentration Camp c. Block 27 Auschwitz with the book on names d. Auschwitz Reflection e. Birkenau guard f. March to Kotel and the celebration of Latrun (looks like this is in Israel?) g. Flag over Treblinka Full show notes: http://www.brentbergherm.com/episode/marchoftheliving/ March of the Living Website: https://motl.org

iTunes Summary: In my circles, there's been a lot of talk lately about photographing the places we love and how, sometimes, photographers can do way more damage to a beautiful spot than they might expect. I'm not one to keep my locations to myself, but I do want to take this opportunity to encourage listeners to be respectful of the land we have come to love so much. If we're not careful we may end up trampling it to death. Whitman Mission is a great place to go and shoot. In this episode I talk about the different parts of the park, the seasons and how I keep going back for more and more. This is one of the great places that I just never seem to tire of. bb

This particular episode is simply an explanation regarding the reboot of the podcast. Latitude was started about a year and a half ago. I planted the idea first by talking to Brian McGuckin and then Jim Harmer at Improve Photography. We started the show on its own feed and then about four to six months later we migrated it to the main IP feed. Read more at: http://latitudephotographypodcast.com/episode/introduction/
