Marty began his career at the age of 12, and by his late teens he was playing with Bluegrass legends and Johnny Cash.  In the 80's and 90's Marty became defined by his traditional musical themes injected with rockabilly influences.

In this episode, George welcomes Opry Star and Bluegrass pioneer, Jesse McReynolds. Jesse explains how he discovered the split-string style of mandolin playing. He talks about how long before fans were following the Grateful Dead around the country, Jerry Garcia was following Jim and Jesse from town to town. Jesse also chats about the early days of TV and how his week was filled with traveling around the country to host shows in various markets.

In this episode, George chats with Opry Star, banjo master, and pride of Gleason, Tennessee; Mike Snider. Mike learned to play at the age of 16 and a talent contest led to his Opry debut on January 21st, 1984. Since then, Mike has been entertaining Opry crowds with great picking and humor.

Jimmy has played on such iconic recordings as He Stopped Loving Her Today, The Gambler, Stand By Your Man, Elvira, Here In The Real World and many more. He is in the Musicians Hall of Fame, The North Carolina Music Hall of Fame and recognized as a Nashville Cat by the Country Music Hall of Fame.
