Alicia Silverstone might be best known for the iconic 90s romantic comedy Clueless, but it’s time to get a better picture of exactly how busy she’s been ever since. In honor of the release of her latest feature Bad Therapy, Silverstone took the time to join us for our very first virtual episode of Collider Ladies Night, winding us through her career on stage, screen, and even her best-selling books. Bad Therapy, co-starring Rob Corddry and Michaela Watkins, is now available on-demand.
Having graduated from film school with director Brandon Zuck, it was the ultimate treat to have him in the Collider studio to talk about his experience working with the Into the Dark team on their March installment, Crawlers. We've got a little bit of everything for you in this video interview! We discussed the common debate of whether or not it's worth attending film school, where Zuck's love of horror came from, what it was like jumping onto the movie train that is an Into the Dark installment, and so much more. Zuck is truly a wonderful individual with a strong voice and electric style but I have to admit, my favorite part of our chat might be his Liam Neeson drinking game.
Elisabeth Moss is on another level. Perhaps this is old news after projects like Mad Men, Top of the Lake and Handmaid’s Tale, just to name a few, but I recently got a double dose of Moss watching her in Shirley and then The Invisible Man soon after, so I was floored by her talent all over again. She’s an absolute powerhouse in Shirley as Shirley Jackson which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and scored distribution via Neon, but right now the spotlight is on The Invisible Man which hits theaters nationwide on February 28th. Moss leads the film as Cecilia, a woman caught in an abusive relationship with wealthy scientist Adrian Griffin (Oliver Jackson-Cohen). She manages to escape with her life, but Adrian has left her with some severe emotional scars. When she learns Adrian opted to take his own life, some of the weight lifts but soon after, Cecilia grows suspicious of whether or not Adrian is really gone and becomes convinced that he’s found a way to make himself invisible and continue to torment her. Collider Ladies Night is all about putting the spotlight on some of the best of the best, covering how they found their place in the industry and how they’re changing it for the better so Moss was an obvious pick for the show. During our conversation, she spoke about making the pivot from dance to acting, what experience shaped her the most as an actor, her cats who actually have their own IMDb pages, and so much more! #ElisabethMoss #InvisibleMan

Scott Mantz sits down with writer-director Céline Sciamma and stars Noémie Merlant and Adèle Haenel to discuss their film, Portrait of a Lady on Fire. Merlant stars as an artist who is hired to paint a portrait of Haenel that will be sent to a man who, if he likes what he sees, will ask for her hand in marriage. The two women embark on a forbidden romance captured in all its intimacy by Sciamma and her gifted cinematographer Claire Mathon. Mantz talks to the three women about their dynamic, as well as Sciamma’s use of light and shadow, which comes off much like a painting. He also inquires about the exquisite costumes and the tenderness of the love scenes, which emphasize a feminine perspective. Thanks to Arclight Cinemas for presenting Collider's FYC Screening Series!
