Bad On Paper

In our last episode before our holiday hiatus, we are discussing The Proposal, by Jasmine Guillory. This was our first foray into romance novels (it gets a little steamy) but we think Jasmine Guillory does a great job (we both want this one to get a movie deal!) Also in this episode: we both have had friends in town and are entertaining like crazy, Becca got a cool gadget that makes iced coffee and Grace looooves her reading socks.

It's a very festive advice ep! We're talking about everything from dealing with the "Why are you still single?" questions at the holiday table to making small talk at holiday parties to the best gift picks and more! Also in this episode, Grace's new baby (!!!!) and Becca's new comforter obsession!

This week we're tacking a grab bag of advice topics — we're talking everything from friendship to beauty buys to favorite podcasts. In other news, Becca had a Whole30 fridge fail, and Grace's face is falling off with the change of seasons. Plus, we're both embracing fall coziness and have some candle recs!

This episode we're discussing our adult book of the month, Charlotte Walsh Likes to Win, by Jo Piazza! We LOVED this book. It's simultaneously such an important book (it's the first fiction book about a woman running for office), but it's also a light, easy read. This book sparked some important conversation (We were nervous to talk about politics here!)  Join us next week for advice, and in two weeks for our YA Pick... Children of Bone and Blood!

On this week's advice ep, we're diving deep on two in-depth advice queries. In the first, a listener is struggling with being hated by her boyfriend's friends. Then, we reply to another listener question from someone who is wondering if they should break up with their bestie. But it's not all tough situations! Becca has a work victory, Grace finally got some quality time with her gravity blanket, and we have a new favorite podcast. Plus, we explore the joy that is The Rock's Instagram account.

This episode we're discussing our YA book of the month, Save the Date by Morgan Matson. This is the cute story of a big family, + a wedding where anything and everything can go wrong. Spoiler alert: Becca loved it, Grace was just meh.  This episode made us nostalgic! It gave Becca big family envy and made Grace think about the nice boys she dated in high school. We're back from our mini hiatus and getting back into the swing of things after a summer of travel. We've got that new school year feeling and are ready to get into some new habits and routines and kick our work lives into high gear! Plus, we have thoughts to share from our trips (Becca to Portugal, Grace to Sweden), so many reading recs, and infinite joyful that gravity blanket season is upon us. This episode we're discussing our "adult" book of the month, Ghosted by Rosie Walsh. Sarah and Eddie fall in love, and then he bails. But what really happens? Turns out they both have some pretty big secrets. There are a few twists in this one (which we didn't see coming), and it inspired us to talk a little bit about dating in New York (it's a battlefield). We both share our best (worst?) stories of being ghosted.

We're headed to Morocco today, so we have travel on the brain. Not to mention, we both have a serious case of wanderlust, generally. This week, we're answering all your travel questions — from the best apps for flights, our top destinations to travel next, and our packing strategy (or in Becca's case, lack thereof)! This episode we're discussing our YA book of the month (even thought it's not really YA if you ask us), Circe by Madeline Miller. While a knowledge of Greek Mythology is definitely not mandatory to enjoy this book, if you loved mythology in school (we did!) this book will feel like a deeply personal reunion with all your mythology favs. We loved this book!!! This episode we're discussing Listen to Your Heart by Kasie West, which (so sorry) was actually awful. In this episode, we rip apart this book. We both hated it. (Seriously, so sorry!) But, it's still a good episode. Becca made up a clever new game and we talk about how we started our podcast. Sorry for picking a terrible book but honestly, it is kind of fun talking about how bad this book is!
