First edition of "Pivotal Moments," where I share and reflect on some key moments in my growth as an artist. First up is an experience from high school, where I decided to use my art as a way to say "F you" to my teacher. I was an ass.

Spoiler alert - There's never going to be a right time. Work on your project and attract followers that are into your project. I think it's fine to do fan art, but just realize the people that follow you because you draw Hulk well, might not be into your creator owned project. I do a mix of both, where I show my entire comic creation process as well as mix in fan art.

I go in depth into why you should and shouldn't do conventions, plus ways to make money at them and doing commissions in artist alley. Seriously, you'll learn something. It amazes me when I see artists fail at their table because they weren't doing simple things.

I know we're supposed to be creative powerhouses, but the truth is we all come across a mental block here and there. We call it "Artist's Block." I go in depth into what I think is happening and also give you some very concrete and doable solutions.
