In this sermon, Michael Miller addresses systemic racism that he has seen in the city of Dallas, the mindsets that surround neighborhoods and how we have all been impacted by the "ISM" of race. Radical Love Reconciles... In our day and throughout history, man has built walls of separation through ideologies based on race, national identity, religion, and politics just to name a few. Those walls create isolation and hostility, but Jesus provided a key to tear down those walls of offense between God and man. He did this with a ‘perfect’ love. A love that was the same toward the good and the evil, the just and the unjust. He loved His friends and enemies the same. That kind of radical love is the key to seeing our world changed.

In this week’s sermon on Communion, Michael Mauldin continues in 1 Cor 11:23-30 focusing on seasons where we are standing between what Jesus has accomplished and His manifestation of the promise in our lives. Those gap seasons are often filled with suffering and weakness. Some tendencies in these seasons are to feed our flesh with sinful things to mask the pain. However there is another way to feed our spirits in these times to gain strength and joy in the midst of the suffering of our flesh through Communion! This is a fun message and a much needed truth for the Body of Christ. 1 Corinthians 11:23-34 is the only exhortation we have directly from Paul (or anyone else) on how to take approach The Table. In his address, Paul has some strong words for those partaking in the meal like; eating the body & drinking the blood in a worthy manner; examining yourself rightly before taking the meal; and not being found guilty of the blood and the body. These words have put fear and insecurity in many people. Many will miss the power of what has been provided at the table because of Paul’s strong correction to the church at Corinth. Michael Miller in this teaching thoroughly explains what Paul meant by these terms and how to appropriately eat and drink of the Lord. He shows us how to come to the table and receive ALL that has been provided by Jesus. It’s different than we think. It’s better than we think. The Table series continues this week with a special look at the bread representing the broken body of Jesus. Michael Miller looks at the significance of Christ’s body being broken and it’s redemptive purpose for us today. In His Body, Jesus bore our sins and the effects of sin for us. The stripes of Jesus provide healing and wholeness and we can approach the table with expectation for healing, wholeness and blessing. Jesus body was provided for us so that we could have life today.

In this weeks sermon, Miller expressed that the Lord presss him to raise the standard for our community. This sermon is on communion and how important and vital it is in our lives as individuals and as a community.

Comparison is deadly. Its devastating influence results in us attempting to be something we are not. Comparison exists among us because we don’t see ourselves or those around us rightly. It’s time for you to have confidence in who you are in the eyes of God. In his second teaching on comparison, Miller talks about life among brothers vs life with the Father. From Cain and Able, Isaac and Ishmael, Jacob and Esau, sibling rivalries (comparison) resulted in death, stolen birth rights and global conflicts. Yet Jesus has led us to the Father, and as our brother, He has set us free from living in comparison to our brothers and sisters. This teaching will help you be free of comparison, see Jesus rightly and see yourself as the Father sees you.
