Over 1 in 10 New Yorkers, including 1 in 5 children are food insecure. Although the want and right to adequate and nutritious food is simple, the causes of hunger are complex. This podcast will discuss the challenges families are faced with when finding healthy and affordable food for their family and children. Kathy Goldman, lifelong food advocate, and Nicole Gallant of the United Way of New York City will provide a brief overview of the political history of hunger and its current state of crisis, and leave us with a call for action to support a collective effort to see system wide change.
