Today's #MoneyMonday will feature one of our most beneficial tips in making you self-aware of your spending habits, expenses, and the all-around makeup of where your money is going. Too many times I've sat there at the end of the month with Shawn thinking "where did it all go?!" And it's terrifying to think about how so much money seemingly just vanished from our grasp. Then, we started tracking. We wrote it all down, no matter what, and we made it available for both of us to see. We made the tracker something we couldn't avoid-- a habit each time we swiped our card or got out the cash. It made you come face-to-face with the hard truth of where money was escaping. (unused gym membership? reoccurring Kindle fee that you don't use anymore? or a monthly subscription to a magazine that goes straight to your bathroom?) We've all been there. We get it. That's why we started tracking; I promise it's not that hard. We've included our expense tracker for you all. All you have to do now is download Google Sheets and fill in the slots when you spend.  

So many people have become lost in the sauce when it comes to planning a wedding-- every detail must be perfect... or else. In today's episode, we talk about Bridezillas and how not being one might actually be a bad thing, too.

Do you love Valentine's Day? Or are you a grinch like Melissa and Marie? Today's episode talks about The Worst present Marie got for Valentine's Day, the only present Melissa got, and how we both agree that Valentine's Day is for the birds. Not only is it on our mom's birthday, but we discuss how it's a Mean Girl holiday. Melissa and Shawn are on the podcast today talking about saving money!

Road Trip! Are they the best? Or the worst? Marie and Melissa talk about travelling with their men, pee breaks (#wimps), and those nasty back seat drivers. 

Melissa and Shawn are going to start a #MoneyMonday for the next couple of weeks to share some money "hacks" that we use to cut back on bickering and make sure we continue to stay financially stable. This episode is our first tip-- tithing! It's not a sexy topic, and most people would agree that they'd like to avoid this tidbit of advice all together. However, we (personally) think that it's important to give. And we also believe that it's the first step in receiving even more. Some say it's counterproductive and illogical. Maybe, but all we know is that it works. (disclaimer: even if you're not religious, we talk about how tithing isn't just a "church" thing.)

A lot of things change as you get older. You can’t eat pasta for every meal without getting fat. Your husband doesn’t flinch when you wrapped your unshaved legs around him. And your double dates aren’t quite what they used to be.  

Hobbies can be a great way to connect with your spouse. They can also be a great way to annoy your spouse. Today Melissa and Marie talk about the hobbies their men have, their own hobbies (or lack thereof), and how pretending to be into a hobby could possibly kill you.

We’re not saying that Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard have it figured out completely, but I think that there’s a reason that they’re happy, thriving, and still together through the madness of, not only marriage, but being frickin celebrities. From surprising her with sloths to admitting that their fighting use to be toxic, this couple gives us some great criteria on how to be a power couple. 

Everyone gets sick every now and then, but the real question is who is the bigger baby. In this episode, we talk about who gets taken care of the most often, weird remedies, and our go-to comfort foods and medicines when we're sick.

Fair is far, right? Today Marie and Melissa talk about why we keep score, how we try and keep the household balanced, and how giving more might actually be the key to success.

As a follow-up to our Getting on the Same Page (Episode #006), Marie and Melissa talk about how setting goals prepares you and your marriage for success. We also get a closer look at our personal goals to see why we've made them and how they'll benefit all areas of our lives.   

Today, we discuss the importance of being on the same page with your spouse. As Shawn and Melissa start their marriage, they discuss their goals for themselves and each other and how they will accomplish them together. At this point, we have recently relocated to Atlanta for a new job for Shawn. Melissa is transferring law schools to start studying in Atlanta. At the same time, we are starting a business, We Buy Houses Atlanta, where we are pursuing our real estate goals of flipping houses and buying rentals for retirement. All of this is going on while we transition from living with Shawn’s aunt and uncle to getting a place of our own. It’s a very dynamic time and focusing on what each other is wanting and expecting (being on the same page) is what keeps us grounded in the midst of all the chaos.
