 Episode 033 - You're HOW old?!? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 42:11

Sometimes age differences are a little creepy. We agree. But that didn't stop us from marrying men older than us-- especially not Marie. In today's episode we're talking about our age differences with our husbands and if it has ever created issues in our relationships and times when we've really noticed Oh, we really aren't the same age. And as a little treat, Melissa created a game for Marie to play-- What's The Age Difference? So you'll have to tune in to hear her hilarious attempt at this game.

This can be a tricky topic, and we’re very aware of that. But Melissa, and now Marie, are proponents of Feminism and what it stands for. We talk about what Feminism is to us, what our husbands think about it, and how it can play a role in our marriage.

 Episode 031 - Comparison Kills | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 33:12

Have you ever look at someone else’s relationship, family, closet, [insert your “thing” here] and thought to yourself “dang, they really have it made.”? Today we’re talking about how comparison can really kill your relationship and happiness in one fatal swoop. We confess what we get jealous of, how it has taken tolls on our relationships, and how we have to remind ourselves that it’s all for show when it comes to the Gram, Facebook, and wherever else you can post those deceiving little pictures.

 Episode 030 - Can I get some help over here?! | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 36:42

Asking for help is hard. That's why we decided to dig deeper into this topic on today's podcast. We talk about whether or not we like to give help, why we both hate asking for help, and why it seems only women have this issue (I think we can all agree that our men have no issue asking us to do things for them.) So as we try and unpack the potential underlying reasons for why asking for help can be so difficult, we also wanted to give some advice on how to start communicating our need for support in the relationship and in the household. And ladies, don't be afraid to get picky.

 Episode 029 - Exercise? Extra Fries | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 31:45

Today's episode is about exercising... or lack thereof. We tell you about what it's like working out with your spouse, and how being a competitive can really put a damper on the bonding experience that some people have when working out with their loved ones. We also talk about how our men can, and have, made us feel like we needed to hit the gym-- and I promise you won't hate them for their reasoning. Or presentation of that fact (even if we did). And finally, we'll share how being married, or a relationship in general, does not help in the accountability department. Especially if you're married to Marie.

 Episode 028 - Cheetahs | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 39:55

In today's podcast, we touch on a heavy subject: cheating. Although neither of us have been cheated on, to our own knowledge, we discuss what we qualify as cheating, why cheating happens, and if there can be a happy-ending from it. We also talk about what to do after you find out you've been cheated on and you find yourself in that "now what" phase. It's not easy. It'll never be easy. But like we said in our last podcast, marriage is the union of two awesome forgivers.

Episode 027 - Is it too late to say sorry? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 32:11

As a follow up to Criticism v Advice, we talk about saying sorry to your spouse. We all know that it seems like the hardest thing to do, but we discuss why that is... and why we hate doing it. We discuss some of our biggest fights, who is the weaker spouse usually says sorry first, and we give some advice on how to apologize correctly. We'll be the first to admit that it's not easy or fun, but it's a necessary skill in marriage (and all relationships).

Episode 026 - Criticism v. Advice

Episode 025 - Married to the White Men | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 43:37

Today's podcast is about cultural differences and how they can make marriage, parenting, and all-things-life-related just plain hard-- because, it wasn't hard enough already. We share a few things that we've noticed that differ from our white mother-in-laws compared to our Filipina mama; how growing up mixed is hard and confusing and downright lonely sometimes; and we share some tips on how to have a cross-cultural marriage without completely and totally offending your spouse.

 Episode 024 - Income vs. Expense | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 07:09

After their trip to Las Vegas for Grant Cardone's 10x Growth Con, Shawn was inspired to talk about this little financial tid-bit that he learned: earning more versus spending less. Something about this advice is hard to swallow. Maybe it's because we, as a society, are taught that saving is the only way you'll be able to have financial stability and freedom. So many people preach about saving, saving, and saving some more. However, many of the speakers at this conference detested that kind of mindset and said that it was promoting fear and scarcity. It's hard to get out of that habit, though. We know it. We've been there.

 Episode 023 - Picky Vicky | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 26:16

Today's episode we're talking about how dang picky our men are when it comes to how we dress (insert the BIGGEST eye-roll here)! Please tell us that you can relate. We talk about how our husbands make fun of our grandma sweaters, Melissa's obsession with floral and slippers, and Marie's dedication to everything over-sized. Because of this, we decided to do a little challenge, if you will! We're going to let our men dress us for one business week (5 days) starting on Monday (March 5th). The rules for this little game are included in the link-- no cheating ladies! We'll also post on Instagram and Facebook of our Mark- and Shawn-inspired looks plus a little blurb about why they chose what they wanted us to wear.

 Episode 022 - In-Law Lessons | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 36:11

Today's episode focuses on some lessons we've learned from our in-laws, or in-loves as Marie calls them. Marie shares how she sometimes feel like kindred souls with her mother-in-law because they're literally married to the same man. I mean, it takes a lot to put up with an Oates Man. And Melissa shares how the stories of her mother-in-law's ex husband inspires her to never settle in a relationship... and to always pick the spouse that you're able to be yourself around! (You'll even hear her get a little teary-eyed during this one!)

 Episode 021 - Money Tips with Melissa | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 06:39

Melissa is flying solo today and sharing some things she has learned about marriage + money! A nice quick listen to get your focus right when it comes to your joint wallet!
