This episode of Mad Bracket Status is huge! We have DOUBLE the Ivans! We have DOUBLE the hours! It took us DOUBLE as long as it usually does to get it online! Along with our guest, Ethan Crump, we reveal the winner of our Best Sports Movie Villain. We also talk about our next bracket, Purplest Guy.
Hooked on a bracket! Ba da na na! Nando and DJ bring Nick Porcaro on for his incredible third appearance! We go through our Final Four results for the Best Sports Movie Villain bracket and reveal the final two competitors! But mostly, we talk about Guardians of the Galaxy! Spoilers abound! Nick thought Captain America 2 was better than Avengers! I know, right? We also speak with a certain mad Titan who is looking for magic rocks or something. Who cares? Can you believe Porcaro didn't think Avengers was the best one? Also, isn't Poprika great? Listen to that too.
Everybody get up! It's time to jam now. We are down to the final four in our Best Sports Movie Villain bracket. CTO Caroline Amaba comes back on to help us eliminate four of the competitors. We also interview three of the Nerdlucks from Space Jam! Also we talk Comic Con and negative Guardians of the Galaxy reviews.
This week's show sounds like a damn monster movie! We have both DiCola brothers Frank and Paul. Frank is the game designer and Paul is the Frozen fanatic. (He has other interests.) We eliminate eight competitors in our Best Sports Movie Villain to reveal our Elite Eight. There are some big surprises and then there are the Monstars who continue to steamroll the competition. We also have musical Rocky Balboa and Apollo Creed to talk about their experiences and sing us a few songs from their legitimately cool and awesome musical. Finally we complain about girl Thor. What a show!
Y'all ready for this? We can answer that for you. No you are not. This week we invite Jay and engineer Cori onto the show to talk sports movies. Jay has seen at least three. We go over the results of the first round of voting on our Best Sports Movie Villain. Tears are shed. Friends become enemies. Enemies become friends. We also invite a wild and crazy guest who may have some insight into the most contentious match-up of the round. PS After the episode ends listen to our commentary on the trailer for - and we're not joking about this - the Air Bud space movie.
A new bracket is upon us. We are talking sport movies! We bring on Alex Lee, friend of the show, and Ben Chapman, the racist manager from the movie 42, and we go through our Best Sports Movie Villain Bracket. We have 32 contenders that include Shooter McGavin, White Goodman, Apollo Creed, and the Monstars! We also close up the Bracket of Eights and we finish talking about soccer forever.
We are gearing up for our Best Sports Movie Bracket. We bring on the official Mad Bracket Status announcer, Jackson Kelly, and we go through some of the prospective candidates. We also talk about all of the mistakes Nando made last week and that include him seeing Transformers: Age of Extinction. Finally a certain futball coach stops by to talk about Team USA's chances and his brief history as leader of H.Y.D.R.A.
One shall stand. One shall fall. Good friend of the show, Dan Ward finally joins us to reveal the winner of our Ultimate Giant Robot bracket. Optimus Prime and Mark Wahlberg also stop by to talk about their new movie Transformers: Age of Extinction. Finally, and this one isn't a joke, we talk to one of the creators of the new Beowulf game to see why this game is greatest thing to ever happen to man and monster. Roll out!
This is a long one but it's worth it. Robot experts Paul Dicola and Kevin Su come on to talk about our Ultimate Giant Robot bracket. We reveal this week's winner and that sets up the championship round! We also talk American Soccer and the NBA finals before launching into a forty minute chat about E3. We cover everything. Surprise, Nintendo is the best! Even Ezio stops by to reveal that he is a Smash character. Who knew? We also spoil Game of Thrones at the end, so if you're not up to date you probably shouldn't listen to the end.
You guys will never believe this week. A lot of great robots have fallen in the quest to be the Ultimate Giant Robot. We are down to the Final Four in our bracket and we reveal them on this show. We talk with Ethan Crump about which robots we believe will make it to the championship round. Nando is watching Gurren Lanann through much of the show and that confuses him. DJ supports Lebron James and then Lebron comes onto the show to completely ruin DJ's hope for humanity. Finally, we plug the awesome Beowulf game that you should all totally fund on Kickstarter.
This week is a real party. Nick Porcaro brings a bunch of friends on for our largest episode ever. We all discuss the Giant Robot bracket results and this week's match-ups. President Michael Wilson from Metal Wolf Chaos even stops by to talk about how freedom is DEAD in America. Good stuff.
Meeeeemorieeeeeessss, turn your face to the Grimlock. We talk Memorial Day. We talk Days of Future Past (memory themed). We talk Transformers (I got nothing). Emily Hromada joins us and we give everyone some updates on the results and a very special Dinobot stops by. It's Grimlock. Don't you REMEMBER that from earlier in the description. It's late. Also we are back in the dimension that makes everything sound bad. Deal with it.
