 Andrya DeGhelder | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:02:00

On the evening of July 24th, 2018 - a Wednesday - 39-year old Andrya DeGhelder was a no-show for her shift at the Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center. This was very unlike Andrya, a divorced mother of one, who had a reputation for being reliable and punctual. Her coworkers contacted a friend, who tried to get in-touch with Andrya. Eventually, after paying Andrya an unsuccessful house call, this friend contacted the local sheriff's office, who paid a visit to Andrya's home in Grovetown, Georgia. There, police would find a chaotic crime scene, which they believe pointed to an abduction. Over the next week or so, investigators and volunteers would work to raise awareness for Andrya's disappearance, highlighting her past struggles, but a shocking discovery just a week later would shock this quiet community...   Written, hosted, and produced by Micheal Whelan Learn more about this podcast at unresolved.me If you would like to support this podcast and others, consider heading to patreon.com/unresolvedpod to become a Patron   Music Credits Chris Zabriskie - "Oxygen Garden" A.A.  The Zip Gun Bomber | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:52:00

On May 7th, 1982, 54-year old Joan Kipp returned home from her job as a guidance counselor. She was planning to spend the weekend away with her husband, at their Connecticut summer home, to celebrate Mother's Day. But when she arrived home, she saw that she had received a package in the mail: a cookbook, which she believed to be an early Mother's Day gift. Unfortunately for Joan, the cookbook had been hollowed out. Inside, a three-barreled "zip gun" had been created, which shot out at her as soon as she opened it. Joan would become the only casualty of an unknown assailant, who mailed out several of these packages between 1982 and 1996. Despite police developing a couple of leads, they were never able to determine the identity of the Zip Gun Bomber... or their motives...   Written, hosted, and produced by Micheal Whelan Learn more about this podcast at unresolved.me If you would like to support this podcast and others, consider heading to patreon.com/unresolvedpod to become a Patron   Music Credits Lee Rosevere - "Breathing" ROZKOL - "Spider's Web" Sann Gusmo - "Sono Sonho Pausa" ROZKOL - "Turn the Whole World to Rust" Joao Picoito - "Third Floor" Vitus Von Degen - "Black Gloves" Blue Dot Sessions - "Levanger" Dexter Britain - "Seeing the Future" Ailsa Traves - "Unresolved Mysteries"

 Satoshi Nakamoto | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:20:00

On November 1st, 2008, a 9-page whitepaper found its way online. Titled "Bitcoin: A Peer-To-Peer Electronic Cash System," the whitepaper's author clearly articulated their goal to create a decentralized digital currency.  The only catch was: this author, named "Satoshi Nakamoto," was a complete unknown. Whoever they were, they had registered a domain for "bitcoin.org" in August of that year, and the publication of this whitepaper predated the official launch of Bitcoin by a mere two months.  In the decade since, Bitcoin has grown to be the world's leading cryptocurrency. However, its founder remains a complete enigma, despite becoming one of the wealthiest individuals in the entire world...   Written, hosted, and produced by Micheal Whelan Special thanks to the host of the podcast Swindled for their participation Learn more about this podcast at unresolved.me If you would like to support this podcast and others, consider heading to patreon.com/unresolvedpod to become a Patron   Music Credits Vitus Von Degen - "Black Gloves" ROZKOL - "To the Water's Edge" Chris Zabriskie - "Air Hockey Saloon" ROZKOL - "Happiness, Free, For Everyone, and Let No One Be Forgotten" Chris Zabriskie - "Oxygen Garden" Graham Bole - "Nae Shaam" Artem Bemba - "Respiratory Waves" BOPD - "New England is Interesting" ROZKOL - "Cold Breath in the Alleyway" Blear Moon - "Cold Summer Landscape" ROZKOL - "Turn the Whole World to Rust" Ailsa Traves - "Unresolved Mysteries"

 Kelly Boyce-Hurlbert | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:44:00

Kelly Boyce grew up along the northwestern coast of Michigan state. She graduated from Benzie Central High School in 2003, before moving to Traverse City - a cozy coastal town known for its scenic beaches and annual cherry festival. There, she met a young man named Paul Hurlbert. Upon meeting, the two fell madly in love, and by 2012, the two were married. They continued to live in Traverse City, and were building a promising life for themselves: one full of love and laughs. All of that came to a screeching halt in July of 2013. Amidst the National Cherry Festival (which ballooned the area's population) and the Fourth Of July holiday, Kelly would become the victim of a brutal act of violence... which investigators are still trying to get to the bottom of.   Written, hosted, and produced by Micheal Whelan Learn more about the podcast at unresolved.me If you would like to support this podcast and others, consider heading to patreon.com/unresolvedpod to become a Patron   Music Credits Lee Rosevere - "Morning Mist" Scott Holmes - "Nostalgic Resonance" Sergey Cheremisinov - "True Love" Squire Tuck - "What Will Be Will Be (Organ Remix)" Borrtex - "Silence" Rotten Bliss - "Under The Branches" Pulse Emitter - "Nebula" Kai Engel - "Soli" ROZKOL - "The Institute Laboratories" Breath Before The Plunge - "End Of All Things" Ailsa Traves - "Unresolved Mysteries"

Siriyakorn "Bung" Siriboon | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:05:00

In the mid-2000's, an Australian man named Fred Pattison moved to Thailand. He had recently fallen in love with a Thai woman named Vanidda, who had two daughters from a prior marriage: Siri ("Pang") and Siriyakorn ("Bung"). In 2008, the family moved to the area of Melbourne, Victoria. They began working towards a better future, and the two girls - Pang and Bung - began attending Australian schools (which they hoped would give them a leg up in the future). All was fine for a time, until the morning of June 2nd, 2011. At around 8:15 that morning, Bung left for school; a walk that normally took her ten minutes. In the distance between her home and school, she disappeared... and has not been seen since.   Written, hosted, and produced by Micheal Whelan Learn more about the podcast at unresolved.me If you would like to support this podcast and others, consider heading to patreon.com/unresolvedpod to become a Patron   Music Credits Ailsa Traves - "Third Corridor" Artem Bemba - "Red Shore" Graham Bole - "We Are One" Blue Dot Sessions - "Olivia Wraithe" ROZKOL - "Hell Slime" noiseonport - "Spectre" Kai Engel - "After Midnight" Magna Ingress - "Anahata I" Forlon - "Roembden Crater" Daniel James Dolby - "Longing" Ailsa Traves - "Unresolved"

The Mississippi Hangings | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:12:00

In October of 1990, a man named David Scott Campbell was arrested in Philadelphia, Mississippi... the same city where, 30 years prior, three civil rights workers had been abducted and murdered by members of the KKK. On his first night in prison - which, coincidentally, was also his 21st birthday - Campbell took his own life. Two years later, in August of 1992, a young man from Jackson, MS met a same fate. Andre Jones, the eighteen-year-old son of a NAACP chapter president and a Nation of Islam minister, was arrested and transferred to a neighboring county. There, he also met his unfortunate end. These two young men were just endemic of a larger problem plaguing Mississippi jails and prisons over a six-year period, from 1987 to 1993. During that time span, an unusually-high number of inmates/prisoners ended up taking their own lives... and the cause is still unknown.   Written, hosted, and produced by Micheal Whelan Learn more about the podcast at unresolved.me If you would like to support this podcast and others, consider heading to patreon.com/unresolvedpod to become a Patron   Music Credits Graham Bole - "Nae Shaam" Gallery Six - "Hydroscope" ROZKOL - "Redrick's Lament" Ryan Little - "Summer Dreams" Kai Engel - "Soli" Rest You Sleeping Giant - "Themes From Frost" Pulse Emitter - "Moonlit Valley" Magna Ingress - "The Glow" Organoid - "Cassini" Krackatoa - "Long White Cloud" Ailsa Traves - "Unresolved"

The Florence Salon Murders | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:05:00

On the morning of November 6th, 2001, a customer walked into a Florence, Montana hair salon. Just inside, she would make a shocking discovery. Inside the salon, just waiting to be discovered, were the bodies of three women: 62-year old Dorothy Harris, 44-year old Brenda Patch, and 71-year old Cynthia Paulus. All three were the last you'd expect to find in the middle of a murder investigation. Over the next two decades, the investigation would focus on a number of connections: an "oddly-dressed man" seen leaving the salon that morning; a similar murder that took place in Great Bend, Kansas; and finally, a local illegal narcotics operation. But to this day, the case remains unresolved...   Written, hosted, and produced by Micheal Whelan Learn more about the podcast at unresolved.me If you would like to support this podcast and others, consider heading to patreon.com/unresolvedpod to become a Patron   Music Credits Rotten Bliss - "Under The Branches" Graham Bole - "Nae Shaam" The Gateless Gate - "Mvatn" Noiseonport - "Spectre" ROZKOL - "Hell Slime" Parvus Decree - "Threatening Places" Blear Moon - "Cold Summer Landscapes" Parvus Decree - "Thoughts About Future" Percival Pembroke - "North Atlantic Trade Organization" Rest You Sleeping Giant - "Themes From Frost" Graham Bole - "Theme For Rosa" Ailsa Traves - "Unresolved"

Arlis Perry (Update) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:23:00

In October of 1974, a young woman named Arlis Perry was brutally murdered in the Stanford Memorial Church. Over the years, her case has been bandied about as a potential cult-based murder, has been tied to unrelated offenders such as the Son of Sam, and even became the focus of many "Satanic Panic" theories in the 1980s. I covered this story in one of the first episodes of the podcast, back in March of 2016. Now, some new information has surfaced which points to a resolution.   Written, hosted, and produced by Micheal Whelan Learn more about the podcast at unresolved.me If you would like to support this podcast (and others), consider heading to patreon.com/unresolvedpod to become a Patron   Music Credits The Gateless Gate - "Mvatn" Daniel James Dolby - "Longing"

 Amerithrax | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 02:13:00

On September 11th, 2001, a massive attack brought America to a screeching halt.  In the immediate aftermath - while everyone was trying to figure out what had happened, and if it could happen again - another series of events began to play out. Originating in Florida, and then spreading into other populated areas along the East Coast, anthrax-laced letters made every American question their safety. Over the next decade, federal investigators tried to determine who was behind this biological attack, which left seventeen infected and five dead in its wake. But even now - close to 17 years later - the same doubts continue to linger...    Written, hosted, and produced by Micheal Whelan Learn more about the podcast at unresolved.me If you would like to support this podcast (and others), consider heading to patreon.com/unresolvedpod to become a Patron   Music Credits Fabio Keiner - "El Canto Tercero" ROZKOL - "On The Run" Kai Engel - "After Midnight" Breath Before The Plunge - "End Of All Things" Scott Holmes - "Everest" Pulse Emitter - "Triangulum Galaxy" ROZKOL - "Opening Credits" Daniel James Dolby - "Yearning"

Oakey "Al" Kite | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:55:00

In 2004, 53-year old Oakey "Al" Kite was a middle-aged bachelor living in Aurora, Colorado. He had been living in the area for six years, working for a local Denver-based consulting firm. On May 22nd, Al dropped off his girlfriend at the airport. A few hours later, she called to let him know that she had made it safely. She recalled Al sounding fine on the other end of the phone, and all seemed to be well. But just two days later - on May 24th - Al failed to show up for work. When his employer contacted his sister, police were called to perform a wellness check. What they found inside Al's home was a terrifying mystery, and questions were raised about a mysterious man that inserted himself into Al's life the week prior...   Written, hosted, and produced by Micheal Whelan Learn more about the podcast at unresolved.me If you would like to support this podcast and others, consider heading to patreon.com/unresolvedpod to become a Patron   Music Credits ROZKOL - "Hell Slime" Robert Farmer - "I Wonder What The World Is Doing Now" Xenojam - "Towards Death" Gallery Six - "Hydroscope" Rotten Bliss - "Under The Branches" Kai Engel - "Sunset" Magna Ingress - "Anahata II (The Longing)" Mutant Data Orchestra - "Zzyxx" Joao Picoito - "Untitled" Ailsa Traves - "Unresolved"

 Mike Emert | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:07:00

On January 4th, 2001, a Seattle-area real estate agent met up with a potential client in a parking lot. This client, who had contacted the realtor directly, was described as both "odd" and "weird." While viewing a home in the area of Woodinville, WA, the real estate agent, Mike Emert, was brutally killed by an unknown attacker. The crime - which was particularly brutal - looked to be premeditated and methodically planned. For years, the mystery of Mike's death has haunted his family, friends, and other real estate agents in the Pacific Northwest. A decade would pass before police discovered the likely culprit of this violent act... but it had become too late for investigators to close the case on Mike's death...   Written, hosted, and produced by Micheal Whelan Learn more about the podcast at unresolved.me If you would like to support this podcast and others, consider heading to patreon.com/unresolvedpod to become a Patron   Music Credits Parvus Decree - "First Encounter" Lee Rosevere - "Morning Mist" Rotten Bliss - "Under The Branches" The Pangolins - "The Stream" Daniel James Dolby - "Yearning" Magna Ingress - "Anahata I" ROZKOL - "On The Run" Astral Shit - "Vindicta (Lost-Radio Reshape)" Graham Bole - "Heebie Jeebies"

The Zodiac (Part Three: Legacy) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 02:02:00

Between December of 1968 and October of 1969, four separate attacks left the San Francisco Bay Area shaking. Two attacks happened in the area of Vallejo, another took place along scenic Lake Berryessa, and the final incident took place in San Francisco itself - in the wealthy neighborhood of Presidio Heights. A madman, who referred to himself as "The Zodiac," began corresponding with the media at around the same time. He took credit for the attacks, and - as the attacks progressed - he became more confident and began threatening police, journalists, and even school-children. Throughout the years, many have theorized connections to this mysterious killer: other possible crimes, noted suspects, etc. But the many mysteries of the Zodiac killer continues to linger...  The Zodiac (Part Two: This Is The Zodiac) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:03:00

Three weeks after the Fourth of July shooting incident at Blue Rock Springs Park - in Vallejo, California - a mysterious series of letters were received by publications in San Francisco's Bay Area. The writer offered up a three-part cipher, which supposedly contained the identify of the shooter. As the media began to pick apart these cryptograms, another couple of crimes seem to continue the killer's crime spree. First, a young couple is brutally attacked at Napa County's scenic Lake Berryessa in September of 1969; then, a San Francisco cab driver is randomly targeted just weeks later, in October. The writer of the original letters - who dubbed himself "The Zodiac" - takes credit for all of these murders. But then he begins to wage a war of terror on the Bay Area itself...  The Zodiac (Part One: Vallejo) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:54:00

On December 20th, 1968, two teenagers - David Faraday and Betty Lou Jensen - were going out on their first date. The two were natives to the Vallejo area of California, and spent their evening driving around, before settling into a cozy lover's lane along Lake Herman Road. There, they were shot and killed by an unknown assailant. For months, the investigation into the shooting of David and Betty faltered... until a similar crime took place a handful of miles away. When Darlene Ferrin and Michael Mageau were shot at Vallejo's Blue Rock Springs Park on July 4th, 1969 - and a mysterious individual called police dispatchers to claim credit just minutes later - it officially kicked off one of America's most infamous criminal investigations...   Written, hosted, and produced by Micheal Whelan Learn more about the podcast at unresolved.me If you would like to support this podcast and others, consider heading to patreon.com/unresolvedpod to become a Patron   Music Credits The Gateless Gate - "Melnibone" Lee Rosevere - "Breathing" Chancius - "Time And Space Died Yesterday" Kai Engel - "Touch The Darkness" Sann Gusmo - "Sono Sonho Pausa" Magna Ingress - "Watershed"
