Josh & Ed broadcast live from the beautiful John Hall Conservatory in City Park, Launceston! The pair recount their weekend covering Western United in Tasmania, chat Brebner's sacking at Victory, and the breakaway European Super League that threatens to undermine club football.
To start the show, Dave Cvetkovski delivers a tearful tribute to Preston goalkeeper coach Goce Gruevski, who has tragically passed away. Women's head coach Dan Foden and Reserves/Assistant coach Sarkes Efe join Josh Parish to discuss the win over Boroondara Eagles, the tactical approach this season, how Dan researches and prepares for games, and the thriving team culture that is developing. Women's captain Di Pikulovski shares her thoughts on the resumption of football after a long break, her new role in the defence, and the camaraderie in the playing group. And finally, left back Karl Baricevic is still coming down from the high of Friday night's win over Melbourne Victory, and his 30 metre screamer of a volley that won the match. He joins Josh and Di to discuss his goalscoring purple patch, and the massive upcoming fixtures, including a tussle with Nunawading City on Saturday, and an FFA Cup tie against the Oakleigh Cannons.

Dave Cvetkovski delivers a tearful tribute to Preston goalkeeper coach Goce Gruevski, who has tragically passed away. Goce will forever be remembered for his passion for football, his friends and goalkeeping credentials both as a player and coach, including representing his country of birth Macedonia. Having also represented Preston as a player in the mid-2000s, Goce later rejoined the club as goalkeeper coach and was an integral part of the team in the 2019 championship year. Goce's career achievements as a player include his beloved FK Pobeda where he will be remembered as a legend, Vardar Skopje, FK Rabotnicki, FK Belasica, FK Sloga Jugomagnat and his move in 2006 to Australia and Preston Lions. Goce was a great character around the club, a friend, a teammate, a teacher to so many goalkeepers who he whole heartedly helped, a man whose knowledge of football was impeccable. It is a very sad day for the Preston Family, we pass on our condolences to Goce’s family here and overseas, his wife Daniella and son Evgenij who he adored. The Wednesday night team dinners will never be the same! The club will be honouring Goce in a number of ways starting with a minute's silence this Saturday. May he Rest in Peace. Bog da go Prosti
Without regular co-host Ian Syson alongside him, this week Paul Mavroudis goes into university lecturer mode, and delivers a 15-minute musing on the purpose and effectiveness of the show, the fractured history of Australian soccer, and the sport's lack of a foundational "myth". For the feature interview segment, Paul is joined by Heather Reid and Marion Stell to discuss their new book, "Women in Boots: Football and Feminism in the 1970s". And finally, Paul is joined by producer Josh Parish to chat about the demise of The World Game. From indulgent 6-hour Sunday marathons to the "Wild West" of the old forum, they reminisce and discuss the reasons behind the brand's gradual decline and recent cancellation.
