Brian Kelly had a press conference where he discussed the new coaching hires and Notre Dame picked up a few more recruits for the 2017 class
Notre Dame coaches have kicked the recruiting into high gear but is it too late for the 2017 class? With the departure of Tarean Folston to NFL dreams and Justin Brent to transfer the running back stable could be depleted in 2018 as Notre Dame's leading contributors at the position (Josh Adams and Dexter Williams) could leave for the NFL. It's very unlikely that both Adams and Williams would return for a senior season. While the Irish do have 1 running back commit and early enrollee, CJ Holmes, it's important to pick up another in the 2017 class. Besides running back, Notre Dame needs another receiver commit. On defense, a commit from all three levels of the defense would be much appreciated.
Who Will Be On The Team in 2017? Quenton Nelson received a 2nd round grade from the NFL and said he will be returning. Alize Jones who missed the 2016 season because of academics Tweeted that he is clear to go for 2017. What about the 5th year players? It's unknown yet which of those seniors will be back. What is the mindset of the program? Nyles Morgan Tweeted last week that he is following all the ND recruits and wants to see their highlight films. Thoughts on Matt Balis Players credit him with reshaping their body Lot's of respect from former players coached by Matt Balis Recruiting Notre Dame is recruiting hard right now as they make a push to finish the 2017 class. Is ND in trouble at Linebacker?
Notre Dame has figured out most of the assistant coach positions. Mike Elko (formerly at Wake Forest) in at defensive coordinator and Chip Long (formerly at Memphis) in at offensive coordinator.
