The Two Voices start by reviewing ITV’s "Play your cards right". Now it’s aired we can tell you what it was like! The next show is our favourite… "The Price is Right". With all the “Come on down” running we question how sturdy studio seating is! Away from gameshows, We discuss how wildlife has come into our lives during lockdown. More birds and better flowers. “Springwatch” is back on air. Plus The UK’s Wildlife Trust is running a 30 day’s wild campaign: See wildlifetrusts.org Finally… you all seemed to like our You Tube recommendations special a few weeks ago. So we give you two more. Andy suggests “Simple Cooking Channel”. Nick suggests “Living Walks”. Both are excellent and worth a watch! Drop us a line with your recommendations: 2voicesradio@gmail.com
This week…we couldn’t avoid a mention of Dominic Cummings (& his goings). Andy tells as about “The Archers” in lockdown & a fan-site Zoom meeting he was involved in. Nick brings us a surprising radio find called “Slow Radio”. Plus… as you know The Two Voices are fans of old gameshows. So they’re both looking forward to Alan Carr’s Epic Gameshow. The Archers fan site we mention is dumteedum.com Get in touch with us 2voicesradio@gmail.com
Nick and Andy are back together (socially distancing) for a walk in the countryside. They consider the weirdness of lockdown. They talk about BBC Gardeners' World and Nigel the dog. We like the show… but the presentation style is very slow and they seem to be filling it with rehashed features & viewers’ videos. We’re not convinced about this! Plus... we talk about the benefits of walking as we make our way to a high point at Warden Hill in Bedfordshire to a triangulation pillar (trig point). These are marvelous markers across the UK that were used to plot Ordnance Survey maps. Join us for some fresh air! (Get in touch: 2voicesradio@gmail.com)
We talk more about MightyMKL (Michael) the airline pilot with his wonderful YouTube videos. It opens up a discussion about the whole concept of flying. We look at the Eurovision Song Contest that'll be somewhat different this year. Plus... we discuss repairing appliances or should we just throw them away? This leads us to the fascinatingly popular BBC TV show - The Repair Shop. If you enjoy our podcast please encourage your friends to listen and subscribe to "Two Voices Radio Podcast". Available everywhere! We are trying to bring cheer to everyone in these difficult times!

Nick and Andy ask why younger people are using instant pancake mix... adding more plastic to the environment. Nick says pancakes are for all year round. Andy makes the perfect omlette. (Our show has turned very local radio!) Andy's horrified that Gregg's branches are turning up in Asda! Andy also gets narked by places serving chips as part of a breakfast which leads us onto buffets and Mr Whippy ice-cream. Nick talks about the evolution of ravelogue food shows including Rick Stein's Weekends and the invention of travel cookery shows. Finally... We discuss how government agency staff are losing there technology and how compromising of data this must be!
We discuss lots of TV this week, starting with a wonderful TV series "The Trial of Christine Keeler". It's an excellent BBC TV series. It gets us thinking about other BBC dramas. We are surprised Holby and Casualty are still going. Both hospital dramas never seem to run out of obvious accidents and incidents! Our friend Luke tells us about spending just £20 on a new bed. We're shocked! Just 20 quid? We talk dreadful hats and fascinators...which somehow leads us onto satellite TV and telephones. Finally... we look at classic 90s TV show "This Life" and discuss the longevity of certain shows such as Neighbours and The Archers.
This week we ask why do people pick certain jobs... accountants, dentists, funeral directors. We also ask why do people become Members of Parliament. We look at MP Tracy Brabin who received abuse for the dress she was wearing. Plus... singing sensation Madonna overruns on her London theatre show and finds the curtain comes down on her!
Old “Top of the pops”. Big breakfast in the morning. Opal Fruits are coming back. We lament old products from the past. Nick needs to get a new passport… which gets us thinking about the cost of things from the past compared to now. We talk about the High Street of the year and what makes a good High Street & what shops will always buck the trend of a recession. Plus cashless businesses… are they discriminatory? Finally… we reveal the chip shop of the year. It’s all here!
This week… dental pain… Nick has it but won’t dwell on it! Cardigans are now all the rage (apparently) with men. Tesco are ditching plastic wrap on multipacks of cans. Is the plastic tax working or are people just paying for higher quality bags? Asda are trialling stores where you take you own empty containers along. Luke tells us how hard he’s working at University (we don’t believe him). We discuss Crackerjack… the classic TV show is back. Plus… we ask if Grange Hill should come back?
