Welcome back, everyone!  This week I give my final thoughts on 1986's masterpiece, Stephen King's It! I analyze the characters, themes and trace the patterns of King's tropes through the years as they evolved into the novel I spent the last three weeks discussing. If you're a fan of The Dark Tower, make sure you also listen to the special bonus episode in which I explore the relationship between this novel and the events of The Dark Tower series.

 Episode Thirty Nine-It, Part Two | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 53:20

Welcome back, everyone! This week, I will continue my analysis of Stephen King's masterpiece: It!

 Episode Thirty Eight-It, Part One | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 01:21:45

In 1986, the master of horror released the novel worthy of his title.  This novel reflected many of the themes, characters, and story beats that he had introduced in his earlier novels and stands as his ultimate thesis of the horror genre.  More importantly, it is the pinnacle of coming of age stories, a tale that places childhood friends at the center of a cosmic conflict, and only through the power of friendship can we overcome our fears.  If that doesn't speak to Mr. King's sensibilities, I don't know what does.  Oh, and it has a scary clown!  Ladies and gentlemen, I hope that you packed your bags, because we will be spending the next month in Derry, Maine, home of Pennywise The Dancing Clown.  Enjoy your stay, and keep away from the drains, the canal and the Barrens.  You'll never know what you might find there.  Or what might find you. . .

Take a trip down Bachman lane with the last "true" Bachman book before King was outed as the real author.  How does this compare to the other Bachman novels?  Does it feel more like a Bachman book or a King book?  Is it any good? Find out in this week's episode of the Stephen Kingcast!

 Episode Thirty Five-The Running Man | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 39:28

 Episode Thirty Four-The Bachman Books | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 31:26

In this week's episode, the Stephen Kingcast makes room for the Richard Bachmancast as I examine the 1985 collection of Richard Bachman's previously published works.  As I've done with reviews of other collected works such as Night Shift, Skeleton Crew and Different Seasons, I won't review all of the stories included, and will focus on what I consider the Big Two: The Long Walk and The Running Man. How do the Richard Bachman entries differ from Stephen King's works?  Find out this week in the Richard Bachmancast!

 Episode Thirty Three-Mercy | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 33:07
