On this special edition of "Between Two Detailers," Levi and Dylan talk about the ever-present "Detailing Sniper." It's obnoxiously easy for someone to sit behind a keyboard and make a negative comment, especially in the detailing world. Now were these people there at the time of the detail? Perhaps when the video or picture was taken? Of course not! However, that doesn't stop them from giving their input that helps nobody but their ego. So in honor of the haters, Levi and Dylan discuss these wonderful people and the drive behind the "Detailing Sniper."To read Dylan's article, Go HERE.What are your thoughts about detailing snipers?  RUPES iBrid: What You Need To Know | DETALKS | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 0:08:32

The Rupes iBrid is no stranger to the detailing industry, but Dylan Von Kleist is in the house to tell you everything you need to know about this little polisher! We can't deny that this thing is pretty cool. For many of us, it's the missing link in polishing the nooks and crannies of a vehicle. This battery powered (or wall powered) little beast can be used as a rotary, a long throw polisher, and a short throw polisher. It all comes down to which attachment you need. It has several speed settings with plenty of power to correct paint. Multiple backing plates allow for versatility and more area of coverage. The iBrid is a pricey little tool in the kit, but you can also buy it separately if you don't need the fancy case. The polisher works great for correcting paint on grill inserts, diffusers, pillars, sideskirts, etc. It can also be used for interior cleaning with the right attachments. Overall, this is a great little tool for professional detailers and will come in use more than you can imagine! Want to see more Rupes products?  Which RUPES Bigfoot Polisher is Right for You? | DETALKS | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 0:14:34

Before you buy your RUPES polisher, you NEED to watch this. Dylan Von Kleist explains the differences between the Bigfoot LHR 15 Mark ll and the LHR 21 Mark ll. In which one was specifically designed for the detailing market. It goes without saying that RUPES polishers are a popular tool in the detailing industry. They have an arsenal of premium Italian polishers and pneumatic tools that pack some serious power. However, one major question when looking at the RUPES Bigfoot is, do I get the LHR 15ES, the Mark 2 over the ES, or go big with the LHR 21 Mark 2, etc. The possibilities are endless. Therefore Dylan gives us a breakdown of the ES vs the Mark ll as well as the LHR15 vs the LHR21. The LHR 15 was actually designed as a detailing tool, whereas the 21 is actually found more in bodyshops. Either way, both of these tools do a GREAT job in correcting paint and removing scratches and swirls with their DA orbital function. The only real difference is that the 21 covers more area, where the 15 can get through curved areas easier. Do you own one of these tools? Chime in and give us your thoughts on the 15 vs the 21! How does one go from being a full time detailer to a corporate industry rep? Levi and Dylan talk about their transition from detailing cars to representing a company. While some jobs require fancy degrees, there are others that require hands on experience and years in an industry. The detailing industry is a perfect example of that. These two men have thousands of hours behind a polisher and know the ins and outs of the industry. They know what products work and what don't. So what makes them different? They have a shining personality of course! As Dylan mentions, not everyone is fit for being in front of a camera or teaching an audience. It takes a certain type of person to successfully represent a company. If you could choose a corporate detailing company to join, who would it be?  Lake Country Microfiber Pads | DETALKS | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 0:07:41

Why would someone use microfiber polishing pads over traditional foam? David Patterson explains the difference between the Lake Country Machine pad lineup and how microfiber fits into the paint correction equation! Microfiber isn't only for removing compound, but can also be used for applying it! Microfiber cutting pads are known to have a rather aggressive cut for deep imperfections. Whereas the Microfiber polishing pad can lightly cut but still provide a smooth final finish. David spent a few days in Idaho at The Rag Company headquarters and filmed a handful of DETALKS and demonstration videos. So Stay tuned for future uploads! Want to see more Lake Country products?  Forced Rotation Machine Pads | DETALKS | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 0:06:55

What makes forced rotation foam pads different from the rest? David Patterson from Lake Country explains the science behind the foam and why the design is specifically for Forced machines! If you've used a Flex 3401. Makita, or new Rupes Mille, then you know these machines pack some serious power. Mainly because of the gear driven rotation that keeps moving no matter what you do! Hence why an extra cushion on the pad is necessary for pressure and heat. The foam design is different than most flat pads or even the long throw HDO pads. These Forced pads produce less vibration and give the user a better feel of the machine. David spent a few days in Idaho at The Rag Company headquarters and filmed a handful of DETALKS and demonstration videos. So Stay tuned for future uploads! Want to see more Lake Country products?  HDO Long Throw Foam Pads | DETALKS | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 0:11:42

What's the difference between long throw polisher pads and short throw polisher pads? David Patterson talks about the gritty difference in how the foam is made for detailing purposes. HDO pads were made specifically for long throw polishers such as a RUPES, Meguiers, FLEX, and more. These polishers put the foam through the ringer with a TON of heat and abrasion. Therefore, the foam needs to be constructed to take the beating and still correct paint! David spent a few days in Idaho at The Rag Company headquarters and filmed a handful of DETALKS and demonstration videos. So Stay tuned for future uploads! Want to see more Lake Country products?  The $50 Detail (feat. Dylan von Kleist) | DETALKS | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 0:16:16

On this special edition of "Between Two Detailers," Levi and Dylan talk about the infamous $50 detail job.To read Dylan's article, go HERE.As everyone knows, you get what you pay for. But how does that translate into the detail world? Most people would consider a $10 automated car wash to be average, so why wouldn't a $50 full detail be in the same ballpark? Levi and Dylan talk about the quality of work involved in cheap detail jobs and why this still exist. Because let's face it, some people like cheap things and will continue to like cheap things for the rest of time. A high quality detail should never seem "cheap," and if it does you may want to steer clear. However, there are also people that do not charge people accordingly for their quality of work. If they are spending days on a car, they should be making more than $100 for example. What are your thoughts about the $50 detail? Let us know in the comments!  Host: Levi Gates Guest: Dylan von Kleist Recorded by: Dane Hennen, Anthony Fisher Edited by: Dane Hennen

 Being a Detailing Dad | DETALKS | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 0:16:47

Raising kids and working full time isn't easy by anyone's standards, but how does it differ in the detailing world? Does your detailing career interfere with your family time? We all know that phone calls can possibly lead to detail jobs, but when is it time to put down the phone? The detailing industry is full of ridiculously hard workers that typically don't pass up a job. But when does the work become a bigger priority than the things that matter most? Levi and Dylan are huge advocates of spending quality time with their family. Both of them have special needs kids and understand more than anyone how their kids NEED them. Levi has raised a child with autism and a child with Type 1 Diabetes. Dylan has a child with autism as well. Both of these detailers put their family first and know when to let the phone call go to voice mail. As Dylan said, nothing in detailing is life or death. They both talk about how they set aside time for family during their busy schedules and give advice for those that need it. Being a Dad (or mom) and a detailer is not impossible!Host: Levi Gates & Dylan Von Kleist Recorded by: Dane Hennen and Anthony Fisher Edited by : Anthony Fisher
