The geniuses are back with more a pod actually recorded this week! Mike and Josh discuss Mike’s recent colonoscopy and move and which one was a bigger pain in the rear. Josh brings up all the new smart home apps and which ones they like best. Mike and Josh talk about their speaking gigs over the summer. Mike talks about having his fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry and says a horrible homophobic slur about 10 times. A review of Will Smith’s IMDB page is voyaged upon as Mike prepares for his interview at Dentsply Sironaworld 2017. Summer vacation talk wraps up this week’s pod as Mike talks about how he’s gonna take Lindsey to tour the cheese factory, if you get my drift.

The boys are back with Alan Mead in tow...and a hot mic incident at the beginning catch Josh and Mike laying down a little Disney Duet. Along with Alan, The Geniuses delve into the dregs of dental Facebook groups, called Dental Buddies. The boys answer some questions including how often patient's get sensitive or need endo after restorative work, patient loyalty, mask usage habits and team vacation.

After a long hiatus, the AcciDental Geniuses are back…with a vow to you to have more regular episodes. We are joined by Dr. Alan Mead of the Dental Hacks. Recorded at the Chicago Midwinter meeting, the boys start by talking trash about a few dental products and Playboy magazine. A little reminiscing about the Voices of Dentistry conference occurred, as Alan's ego grew three sizes. Some hot, fresh Oscar talk ensues...only 3 months too late. Josh asks Mike about his performance of a Hamilton spoof at the Dentsply Sirona National Sales Meeting and chat about the upcoming Dentsply Sirona World coming up this summer.

The boys are back for the new year and discuss their holidays. Mike talks about his cat, like any sane rational 50-something year old man does, and how much of a problem getting her groomed is. Yes, Mike has problems trimming his puss. The guys talk about how much they hate New Years and New Years Eve. Josh brings Mike up to speed on whats going on with his mom’s hip and how many fractures there are in it! The Amazon item of the week is the Basic Geri Nursing Skills Geriatric Training Manikin. Check it out to be either horrified or aroused. If aroused, please seek counseling ASAP. The Geniuses then pour one out for the loss of Dr. Carl Misch. Josh talks about his huge speaking gig coming up and having a speaker’s coach.

The Geniuses are back and Mike apologizes for his early to bed habits screwing up the podcast recording schedule. Mike makes fun of the Greater New York dental meeting and how it consistently screws up Thanksgiving. Josh and Mike broach the topic of the election and Josh asks Mike which way he swings. Josh makes a couple of confessions. One is that he must have a gambling problem, since he bet on the election multiple times. He also makes a confession about who he voted for. We are back this week with part 2 of our interview with Dr. Wendy Askew. This week we get into more lady parts questions. Josh finally asks what we’ve all been waiting for...is the G spot real? How is CR like the G spot? Dr. Askew mentions a sexology class that Mike and Josh debate attending. The issue of women's libido comes up again. Josh asks Wendy about number of women she sees with different pubic hair styles. Mike asks about C-Sections and Wendy compares it to a root canal. She has obviously never had a root canal. Wendy then goes on to describe a C-Section, leaving Mike and Josh in awe.

A little heads up here...today’s episode has some mature content. Might not want to listen on speaker during your kids birthday party. Today we have our first guest. Dr. Wendy Askew is an OB/GYN and Mike and Josh bombard her with questions about lady bits. The geniuses and lady talk about why physicians have a grudge against dentists, the current state of ladies' libido and female Viagra. Dr. Askew talks about women supplementation with testosterone as well. Wendy reviews what a speculum is and talks about the grossest thing she’s ever seen in the office.

Mike reads some listener mail that involves an esthetic case. Mike talks about why he isn’t a fan of doing just 6 anterior crowns. The geniuses review the case which involves a patient claiming they developed a lisp after anterior dentistry. Mike and Josh analyze the case and finally recommend shortening the incisal edges. Mike then rants about how this patient is high maintenance and is turning up the pressure when she doesn’t need to.

Mike and Josh start off with a good discussion of the number 46 and how deliciously generic it is. Josh asks Mike if he had ever been administered a field sobriety test. Have you? Mike questions Josh about his love of baseball and Mike suggests that pitchers be shot for throwing balls. The topic of sports fights come up as the boys talk about the Ranger’s Rougned Odor’s famous punch. Josh then tells an eerily strange story that happened at a Rangers game recently.

Mike decides to be fun and spring some hands on learning on Josh by pulling out his Omnicam. Josh decides to scan the easiest tooth on the typodont, which is a tooth #3 with supragingival margins. Mike gets stuff set up and discusses the different design modes. Josh talks about his current scanner system and his thoughts on it. Once Josh starts scanning, its a whole lot of Mike doing scanning play by play...he's like a young Keith Jackson. FUMBLEEEEEE! AND ALABAMA HAS IT! Once the scan is done, Mike walks us through the process of marking the margin, and designing the crown. Josh is legitimately impressed on how easy the process is with the Omnicam and CEREC software! Mike and Josh are back to talk about SIROWORLD again right after Josh finished one of his lectures. Mike gets into some of the nitty gritty details about his time with Sir Richard Branson. Mike talks about how the Branson interview came about, what preparations he did and what the lead up to the actual event.

The geniuses are back!!!! This special episode was taped mid-SIROWORLD 2016...basically the only moment Mike got a break to sit down and rest. Mike and Josh discuss SIROWORLD 2016 preparation and the morning of Day 1. Joke dissection occurs as Josh asks Mike questions about his process for the opening of the general session on Day 1. Mike confides that Lindsey did a lot of the Photoshopping for some of the photos that went along with his jokes. Mike also confesses his thoughts about how to get Josh to kiss another man via a SIROWORLD gag.

Episode 44 starts off with some hot pants talk as the boys discuss the various intricacies of pants. Josh talks about a new custom suit he had made for lecturing and Mike shows of his new lecturing suit. Josh talks about his trip to Madrid with Lee Ann Brady, Joyce Basset, Elliot Mechanic and Ivoclar Vivadent. Mike reads an email from a listener in Turkey about retraction cords. Mike and Josh debate cord techniques again, a battle that will live on into infinity.

Mike and Josh are back, this time poolside for some more inane chatter. Mike gives some good workout tips as he broaches on some future AcciDental Geniuses topics. Josh talks about an Army dentist from the 1940's who was a true hero. This dentist had 98 kills, which makes Mike think this is the highest body count that any single dentist in history has. Mike tells a story of overdosing rabbits in dental school while Josh wonders if he might be a serial killer. The topic of board exams comes up and Mike brings up that for the first time, a dental valedictorian is african american. Mike then talks about shading and how lots of dentists like to make up fake shades.
