From The boisterous and flamboyant colors of spring, to the hot grooves of a beloved summer, onto the soothing and sometimes heartbreaking chills of Fall and Winter, listeners encounter stories and memories captured on wax that have touched both selectors and hopefully the listener as well.  Kevin and Brian are long time musical collaborators, both out of Rialto, Ca. As a young buck, Kevin learned the art of songwriting through observing Brian write and record his original tunes on a 8 track tape recorder and both got their start as an acoustic duo called Ten Year Gap in around 2005.

"Let Love Flow For Peace," named after the wonderful Sunbear track featured on it, is a mix without a grand plan or any real ulterior motive other than capturing a mood, in this case what a chill afternoon at Greg Caz's house can sound like. It covers a few genres and styles but hopefully also displays its own weird inner logic. There's stuff from the dustiest of crates but also fresh fire from the last year or so, including tracks from a pair of fiery 2017 releases by 80+ year old legends. Enjoy!

Back in September we went up to Chicago to DJ the release party for Sunny & The Sunliners “Mr Brown Eyed Soul” album hosted by the good folks at Soul Summit. While we were up there we also stopped in to The Sportsman’s Club to play some records that they recorded on their reel to reel. Here is El Michels set recorded live to tape.
