The provincial leadership held a briefing in Durban today where they gave their version of what happened in a meeting with the ANC's top six led by President Jacob Zuma on Sunday. The African National Congress (ANC) in KwaZulu-Natal said the national executive committee has given its blessing to appeal the Pietermaritzburg High Court judgment which declared the 2015 elective conference unlawful.

The interim SABC board’s term expired last Tuesday, without President Jacob Zuma appointing a permanet board recommended to him by Parliament three weeks prior. The DA announced this morning that it has placed Cape Town mayor Patricia de Lille and mayoral committee member for safety, security and social services, JP Smith on special leave from party activities in the Cape metropole. This comes after De Lille lashed out at Smith on Monday via a press release in which she accused him of dragging her name through the mud for claims he had made about the closure of a city anti-crime unit. Munich Re African is the latest firm to drop embattled KPMG as its auditor.
