 Episode 3 - Devil Daggers | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 11:45

Welcome to the third episode of No Cartridge Audio, where we encounter our first real thinker -- whether or not games can say their difficulty counts as an aesthetic, and whether interactivity and duration are enough to set games apart as medium specific. We don't come to any conclusions, but we open the door and in the meantime we talk about the tremendous indie hit Devil Daggers. Enjoy! (Music from the Devil Daggers OST...such as it is).

 Episode 2 - The Music of Mega Man 2 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 11:52

Hey, Episode 2 is up! Megaman 2 music, discussions of soundtracks, and the nature of audience participation. Music by the lovely Kenji Yamazaki. Donate for more and more audio goodness, and thank you to all who have already!

 Episode 1 -- Rungunjumpgun | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 13:15

As has been long promised, there's something new for long-suffering patrons -- a daily podcast! Now, in the interest of wide-spread focus, you'll have to share some of this, but there will be public podcasts like this one and patron-only podcasts as well, available for every patron -- even if you're just giving a dollar!  These are daily, 10-20 minute meditations on the work I've been playing with audio clips from the games themselves. Credit will always be given. Today we're talking about the addictive RunGunJumpGun, and the nature of mechanics mixed with narrative. I hope you enjoy, and definitely enjoy the music, composed by Jordan David Bloeman, from the aforementioned RunGunJumpGun, sampled from the track "Eclipses Belt".
