 Purrcast 23 Fatty | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:43

This is Fatty’s morning feed me breakfast purr. The latest school of thought is that there is no canonical lexicon of cat meows, every cat has their own language with their owner that they both made up. It’s like a mutual training or an idioglossia, the language made up by twins. Fatty’s brother spoke with nuance of inflection and trills. Fatty has one word that he uses repeatedly until he gets what he wants. I think he learned to meow from listening to the cadence of the alarm clock. I sometimes try to push the snooze button on his head to make him stop in the mornings. Just like Simon’s Cat Wake Up You can keep Fatty and the rest of purrcast flush with treats by supporting our patreon.com/purrcast campaign. Patreon is a service where you can be a patron of an artist by pledging money per month or per work. Purrcast loves all of our fans. Here is a meow-out to some of them: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZN2GcIBmEpU Thank you for listening to purrcast.

Purrcast 21 Momcat Lady Jean Grey Kranz | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2:28

This is the first audio feature with Momcat Lady Jean Grey Kranz. She came to purrcast with kittens as a foster named Marine which was shortened to just Momcat. Her kittens were easily adopted. We kept her for a little while longer to try and socialize her because we feared her very vocal growling and stubborn ways would get her returned by a timid adopter. A year later it became clear that we had “foster failed” and as a birthday present she was adopted and renamed. The foster program jokingly called her a Chesapeake Blue because of her silver blue fur and lack of pedigree. Amy wanted to call her Jean Grey after the X-men character and I extended the name to Jean Grey Krantz after NASA flight director Gene Kranz. She still growls if you look at her wrong but the tough street cat has softened and her ever curious nature finds her on top of the cabinets and having fun playing with our friends 4 year old marauding about pillow forts. Purrcast is run by donations to our Patreon campaign at http://patreon.com/purrcast. As little as dollar a month gets you the super mega extended mix and other fun extras. Thank you for listening.

Episode 20 Fatty | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

This is a special edition of Purrcast. Fatty back in February was diagnosed with a reoccurrence of Feline Vaccine Associated Sarcoma (an aggressive, cancerous tumor) 2 years after having surgically remove the tumor. With gofundme and your help we easily raised money for a second surgery to amputate the affected leg to prevent the tumor from spreading. Fatty is happily still here and purring away. He has adjusted very well to being a tripod and has found ways to snuggle deeper into the cat bed with out that leg getting in the way. Purrcast isn’t just a podcast, it is a multi platform experience. From our twitter page @purrcast we are going to be doing some Periscope popup recording sessions and showing how the podcast is edited and produced. Original music in this episode was pulled from a youtube improvised recording of my midified toy squeeze box. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2-13zwBsZnE If you like Purrcast please tag us in your social network of choice with #purrcast and consider supporting us through http://patreon.com/purrcast. Patreon allows you to make per episode pledges towards offsetting production costs and set limits for how much you choose to spend each month. Thank you for listening to Purrcast.

Episode 19 Fatty, Wilma and Pig | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 4:56

Cappy and @alyssumpohl are big fans of Purrcast, especially Fatty so I set out to record Fatty for this weeks episode. Wilma and Fatty were snuggling together (they are poor weather friends who use each other for heat) so I pulled out a second microphone and went for a twofer. If you listen carefully Pig is snoring away in the background. Thank you for listening to Purrcast.

 Episode 18 Wilma | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 5:06

Purrcast Episode 18 starring Wilma. Purrcast made our first Patreon Milestone goal of $15 per Podcast! The aim of the goal was to donate 1/3 of the money raised after basic production costs are met. To celebrate reaching this goal so quickly we are donating all the January pledges to Underground Railroad Rescued Kitty Network. URRKN coordinates and recruits for individual relay transportation for rescued kitties from the foster homes to their forever homes. Our first Patreon and URRKN driver Ed Rosen chose to donate with out any reward and we wanted to thank him and the good work of URRKN. Posie, Flissy, Val and Nora we have something very special coming up for you as a thank you for your patronage. You dear listener can always support the podcast at https://www.patreon.com/purrcast.  Episode 17 Pig | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2:13

Purrcast Episode 17 ft Pig. Listening studiously to so many different cats purring you begin to develop an ear for different purring qualities. Having found Pig on the street as a kitten he always has had stuffy sinuses. You can really hear every breath through his nose, sometimes giving a little whistle. One of the Purrcast Patreon extras is a short recording of Pig Snoring. Right now we are $1 per episode away from the Patreon milestone goal of giving 1/3 of the Patreon money raised to a local (To Baltimore) animal charity. Do it for the kitties!

 Episode 16 Wilma | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 4:30

Purrcast Episode 16 featuring Wilma. Wilma has the nickname of Wee-Ma even though she is neither. If you enjoy Purrcast and want to help you can donate to us through http://patreon.com/purrcast. Patreon is a system where you can pledge a per episode donation and access special featured content. Right now on Patreon the featured bonus content is the all purring Purrcast Mega-Mix Vol 1. Over 40 minutes of uninterrupted purring as a thank you for supporting Purrcast.

 Episode 15 Twinkle | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 4:45

This recording is from our foster cat Twinkle’s first night with us. She was a street cat that has a rakish clipped ear from a tag and release program. She had a bad case of mites which had spread to the rest of her head which was scabby and awful looking. As you can hear from the purring she was ecstatic to be getting love, food and shelter (she prefers love). After recovering from an upper respiratory infection she is purring even louder and deeper when she isn’t acting the fool like any 1 year old kitten should. Purrcast will have her back on as a guest soon to compare recordings. If you like cats and Purrcast consider donating to us through our patreon http://www.patreon.com/purrcast. Patreon lets us say thanks and present little extras to our supporters. Having our cats pay their own room and board by being on a podcast would be living the dream. Podcast+Purring=Purrcast.

 Episode 14 Carrietta | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 5:57

Purrcast 14 featuring special guest purrformer Carrietta. I am cat sitting Carrietta this weekend for my friend and Fluid Movement  summer 2014 production: “Jeff Goldblum the Water Ballet” co producer Barbara Wilgus. The featured music for this episode I recorded on instruments found in her living room with my phone. Purrcast now has a Patreon page at http://www.patreon.com/purrcast . Patreon lets you donate money to support projects like Purrcast and for us to give thanks directly back to you. You can pledge an amount per podcast episode at any level and cap the total amount of donations per month. Right now if you pledge $5 or more Purrcast will thank you in a personalized youtube video of one of our cats receiving a treat in your name. Purrcast.com purring+podcast.

 Episode 13 Fatty | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 5:20

Purrcast 13 with Fatty was hiding in the toe of the stocking.

 Episode 12 Pig | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 4:48

Purrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

 Episode 11 Ollie Mollie | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 10:02

This is the contented nursing purr from our newest foster cat Ollie Mollie and some smackey sounds from her kittens. Sadly, Ollie Mollie was sick through her pregnancy and the kittens failed to thrive and didn’t make it. We are very sad and want to honor them with the relaunch of the podcast. Olly Molly is recuperating but will be up for adoption soon. (adopted by a friend of ours!) If you would like to help you can foster or adopt at your local shelters or donate to charities like The Franky Fund for critical medical treatment for injured or ill animals at Baltimore City shelters. It all makes a difference in the world.

 Episode 10 Other | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 3:02

Relax. Purring is on the way.
