Klingon episodes tend to be judged pretty harshly by most of our group, but this one managed to beat the odds, and not just because 90% of the Klingons are unconscious the whole time. And you know what? I think I speak for all of us when I say how glad I am that Hoshi finally dug deep and discovered latent talents for demolitions we all knew she had.
Moral ambiguity and ethical dilemmas abound in Star Trek. This episode puts Archer and Phlox at odds as they decide their roles in the fate of two species. This episode also put your hosts at odds as they wrestled with their own questions. Did Archer make the right choice? Was Phlox being reasonable? Is Crewman Cutler perfect?
Time travel episodes, man. We go a little off the rails now and again this episode as we try to dissect the motives of our time traveling crewman, straighten out the logic of time travel, and argue over the physics of grav-plating. This episode is absolutely riddled with spoilers.
Confused? You may have noticed this is not the next production or release episode. We finally hit that point where the idea behind this podcast takes shape, though in an odd way.
This episode had the potential to be interesting, just as Travis Mayweather's backstory had the potential to be interesting, but it was undermined by awkward dialog, direction, and acting. It's a shame! No other series could have explored long haul freighters quite like Enterprise might have been able to.
The Enterprise stumbles upon a populated planet and a nefarious plot. The crew fails to keep a low profile and enlists the help of a local. Also Archer just cannot keep it in his pants.
Do you want to build a snowman? Come on lets go and play I never see you anymore Come out the door It's like you've gone away... We used to be best buddies And now we're not I wish you would tell me why! Do you want to build a snowman? It doesn't have to be a snowman
Shran and the Andorians finally appear! What should have been a fun family outing to the local Vulcan monastery turns sour as Archer and Co. are held hostage. This episode also starts to hint that the Vulcans of this era might not be quite the same Vulcans we're familiar with in the later series.
Bury your drawings, journey from the Overside, and change your tracks to skyship Enterprise. Listen to stories of human shale and how they brought the Poison Rain and gutted the Before Families.
Trip undertakes one of the greatest adventures of all, motherhood.
An idylic Earth-like setting in a Star Trek episode ended up being more than the crew bargained for? Naahhh..
If you enjoy the idea of being the potential cause of an ecological disaster for an entire planet, have caught yourself wondering aloud how alike the ambitions of humans and slugs are, or have been considering whether the harvesting of minute amounts of fluid from sentient beings might have significant returns, then this episode might be for you.
The Enterprise's pursuit of the kidnapped Klingon, Klaang, comes to a head when they discover a massive Suliban base hidden in the atmosphere of a gas giant. Archer and Trip attempt a rescue mission leading Archer to meet Silik for the first time.
We're introduced to all of our new favorite characters for the first time this episode, even if they've still got a few of the annoying traits that get weened out by the later episodes. We hope you enjoy listening in!
