Recently I went to Colorado for my mastermind! My business buddy and I went for a hike and let me tell ya—it wasn’t easy! While hiking up the mountain I felt like God was speaking to me. God showed me three different things that I want to share with you about life and business. Friend, we are all struggling. But you don’t have to do it alone. Remember, there are many ways to get to the top of success. Even if it’s not pretty, finishing is most important.
Today Mr. Magic is joining me to talk about our adoption story! It’s been a long process but soooo worth it! We know many of you have been on this journey with us so we wanted to sit down to go over all of your questions. In this episode, we are giving you the details of our personal story, as well as encouragement to anyone who is thinking about adoption.
Okay, so this may be one of the weirdest podcasts of all time. I’m an encourager and sometimes the Lord uses weird analogies to help me encourage other women. Even though it might be strange, at the end of the day, God is God…so today we are going to talk about spiders. Specifically, he used spiders as a metaphor about transition that I want to share with you now. Some of you may be feeling unseen, frail, and unready for transition. This word is for you, friend.
My guest today is someone I admire so much, Dr. Dharius Daniels! He is the founder and Lead Pastor at Change Church. We are going to talk about his book, Relational Intelligence, which is about the people skills you need in order to have the life and purpose that you want. If you have any relationship issues in your life, you are going to LOVE this book and our conversation!
The truth is, we aren’t called to speak on everything. But we are called to speak on the things God has put on our heart whether it’s in our communities, businesses, or social media. This podcast is for those of you who feel like you need to speak out, but feel afraid. I hope this encourages you to speak up on what God has asked you to do!
Let's talk about Instagram strategy! What I have found is that many people are using the wrong Instagram strategies! This hurts my heart because you're putting time and effort into something that you may not see a return on. So in this episode I'm going over six strategies I've seen recently that are NOT going to grow your account and then telling you what to do to fix them. When I was first starting out on Instagram, I fell for some bogus tactics. Learn from me so you don't make the same mistakes I did!
Recently, I was out on a "wog"—that's a walk-jog for those of you who don't know. Lol! I was praying and heard the Lord say "winter is coming." Normally I love fall but this year the idea of cold weather, more lockdowns and the craziness of the world has me feeling anxious. To me, "winter is coming" tells me that we need to prepare mentally and spiritually for what's ahead. We need to remember that God is at the throne and fully in control.
Today I am introducing you to Susie Moore, author of Stop Checking Your Likes: Shake Off the Need for Approval and Live an Incredible Life, to discuss people-pleasing. We are discussing a few different perspectives, where it comes from, some coping strategies, and so much more. The conversation goes down so many worthy paths with some really great nuggets that you will be pondering in the days to come! I hope it gives you some freedom and fills you with encouragement.
I have been working to dig myself out of some deep feelings and I want to share some of what I am doing. During these times of social distancing, we are all out of whack. Those who need lots of interaction with people are missing it and those who need alone time have possibly had too much peopling with their family during the quarantine. Today I am sharing my perspective and some tips on how we are handling some of these in our house.
Raise your hand high if you know you are a perfectionist!! This podcast was made for you! You are constantly battling yourself with the idea that whatever you make or create has to be 100%, absolute, without a doubt perfect. You are wasting so much precious time in an endless battle. If you are waiting until you know everything, it's never going to happen. You cannot let perfectionism and hoping you can get it perfect be the thing that stops you. Get out of your own head!
Lately, it is all about the coping strategies for me. And the Lord game me a word for some of you who I know need some help when it comes to coping. So one thing I do, and this has served me when for many years, is trick my brain into thinking these are not as bad as they may be. I play little games with my mind in an effort to soften hard circumstances. I may fumble these words a bit, but I know someone needs to hear this. Maybe it is you.
In the business world, we are trying to make pivots to best serve our customers while continuing to provide for our family. Deciding how to make that pivot can be extremely difficult when you've worked so hard for what you have accomplished. Today I sat down with Laura Meyer. She is so knowledgeable and offers amazing advice. Laura had an adapted quote from Richard Rohr that fits perfectly with this podcast, "Transformation often takes place not when something new begins but when something old falls apart."
This is a message of reflection and encouragement for believers. The online shaming and cancel culture in social media is rampant and sooooo not okay. Adults and kids both are being sucked in. As someone who has the Holy Spirit to guide them, you do not have to engage in every fight you are invited to. Use discernment to when deciding who to follow, what to read, and when to comment. And when you are led to unfollow and go a new direction, do it in a God-honoring way. Let's be the light on social media!
Do's and Don'ts of Influencer Marketing | Episode 179
In the last several months, I have been doing something that is a little embarrassing. You're going to have to listen to find out what it is, but basically I have been coping with feeling like I don't have control by controlling areas that don't actually have impact or help. I want to talk today about looking at areas where we don't have control and work on healthy ways to manage those situations. And I want to challenge us all to really look for areas where we do have control and then take action.
