An older project that many new to 3D printing or even some who have been around in the industry for awhile may not have heard about is a Kickstarter project from Zheng3. They did this project around creating Barbie armor and other items using 3D printing called Faire Play, sort of like a Renaissance Faire. Great ways to get funding for Kickstarter through small rewards for backers as well as show off your design chops.
