On this episode of Expanded Perspectives the guys start the show off talking about how they recently were unable to do a show because of a state wide internet outage. Then, how a man in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana spotted something odd in the night sky and was fortunately able to photograph it. The photos show a strange red blob in the sky he and his wife were able to see with the naked eye. Then, described in a newly-published paper in the Journal of Mammalogy by researchers at Chicago’s Field Museum and the Solomon Islands’ Zaira Resource Management Area, the vika is a sight to behold. Including the scaly tail, the deep brown, robust rodent can be a foot and a half long, and can weigh as much as a pineapple. The vika, like its closest relatives, is an avid climber and likely spends most of its time high in the trees of the rainforest, clambering around in the middle of the night much like a possum. Then, a man, whose name wasn’t released by the BFRO, said he was driving on Highway 60 toward Burleson County on the night of September 2 when he noticed the “large dark object” on the side of the road, just about 300 yards after crossing the Brazos River. “It was 2:45 a.m., I was traveling at 80 mph, so I passed it fast, but it rose up to a standing position and took a leap into the darkness,” he said about encounter. ” I have never seen anything like it. I have fished everywhere, from Montana to Argentina.” Then, Show Notes: Mysterious Red Blob Photographed in the Louisiana Night Sky A Giant Tree-Dwelling Rat in the Solomon Islands Has Finally Discovered Western Scientists Retired Veteran Sees ‘Bigfoot’ in Texas A Man Recalls a Terrifying Encounter with an Alien in his Barn Bat Winged Creature Now Being Seen in Texas Sponsors: GAIA KGRA Radio Zip Recruiter Music: All music for Expanded Perspectives is provided by Pretty Lights.
