The Alien Adventures of Finn Caspian: Science Fiction for Kids
Summary: The Alien Adventures of Finn Caspian is a serialized science-fiction story for kids (start with Episode 1!), told in 15-20 minute episodes for parents to put on when driving around town, or to marathon on road trips, or to bond over before bed. When pressed, we describe it as a "mystery gang" story, sort of like Scooby-Doo in space. The story centers on Finn Caspian, an 8-year-old boy aboard The Famous Marlowe 280 Interplanetary Exploratory Space Station. He and his friends Abigail, Elias and Vale are Explorers Troop 301, taking off from the Marlowe to explore uncharted planets, help the occasional alien, and solve a mystery that threatens to destroy the Marlowe. The story is written and performed by Jonathan Messinger, author of Hiding Out, former web editor of Time Out Chicago Kids, and father of two boys. We only mention that because his son Griffin, 6, serves as editor of the story, appearing in episodes to critique, make predictions and express skepticism that his father knows what he's talking about, which also happens to be the way the rest of their relationship works.

In this week's episode, Finn is on his own, facing down the giant alien. Will he be able to save the planet? Will he be able to find his friends? Will the trumpet alien finally play a jazzy tune? In part 1 of our season 2 finale, Finn will find himself channeling an unexpected hero as he tries to save the day.

Unfortunately, that new friend is a ghost who conscripts them to fight a menace that's terrorizing the space graveyard. Just another typical day for Intergalactic Explorers!
In this week's episode, things are really heating up as the explorers have to find a way to get the final piece of the amulet, while a wild horde of space animals hunts them, and King Huxley's explorers try to take it for themselves. Will Finn be able to escape the yeti guards like his little sister did? Will they finally make the amulet whole? Will a space animal have fur for lunch? All of those questions will be answered in this episode!
In this week's episode, we're back with Finn and the rest of the Explorers in Troop 301, as they seek the final missing piece of the amulet. But they land on a planet in crisis (for a change!), have to run for their lives from some very…interesting aliens, and have to help restore the balance. We find out what's been happening to Paige as she's been held prisoner by King Huxley, and it will likely surprise no one that she's taking matters into her own hands.
