Poor communication and organization can lead to a quick demise and not a great feeling! A solid defense on the other hand can be demoralizing for the enemy team.  1. The objective is everything: **From the start of the game the objective and map layout will dictate everything. Ask yourself these questions: a) Is it a payload, point capture or both? b) What roles need to be filled? (map specific, not team specific). 2. Establish a choke-point. 3. Protecting access routes (parts of the map that go around the main routes). 4. Look-out after each other. 5. Have a contingency measure (Planned Panic Button) 6. Learn when to retreat! We also want to break down how you gain experience in Overwatch, and discuss a brief interview with Jeff Kaplan about competitive play coming to Overwatch as well! *News & Patch Notes:  *Kaplan had a pre-launch Q&A with a few key statements: The Overwatch team is currently looking to implement  a system similar to Diablo's Clans and WoW's Guilds. *Competitive mode is hopefully arriving in Overwatch sometime around June as the first big content update after launch. *Competitive Play will be shifting to about 3 month seasons with 2 or so weeks off between seasons **Previous iteration in closed beta was testing community’s opinion on 1 month seasons. *Cynical Nerds - Top Heroes from Pro Play in Closed Beta https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NL9lKnUZkQE Experience & The Progression System: *4.01 xp per second played in a match. **About 240 xp per minute played *Medals earned bonus XP: Whichever level is the highest after a match **Bronze = 50 xp **Silver = 100 xp **Gold = 150 xp *Finishing a match = 250 xp VS. Winning a match = 500 xp *First Win of the Day = 1500 xp *Consecutive Matches played = 200 xp *Playing in a group of 2 or more grants 20% Bonus xp multiplier. *The most Experience you can earn in 10 min: 5,107 EXP *We’d estimate that getting silver every game you'd gain around 2,400 EXP *Repeatedly leaving games gives you a hefty XP gain penalty *It is okay to leave when the game states “Victory” or “Defeat” without penalty. *You can also safely leave during "Assemble Your Heroes" (but not "setup" or later).
