Go grab the deodorant, you'll need it... We also discuss our Top 3 "Sweaty Films"
This week we give Steven Soderbergh another shot as we Queue his latest (and perhaps his last) film SIDE EFFECTS starring Jude Law, Rooney Mara and Catherine Zeta Jones. A chilling vision of the House of Saddam Hussein comes to life through the eyes of the man who was forced to become the double of Hussein's sadistic son - That's what you get this week when we Queue up the 2011 film THE DEVIL'S DOUBLE from director Lee Tamahori starring Dominic Cooper (twice). We also get into our Top 3 'Dual Performances" in film... "Da Debels Dubbbble!"
This week we take on the Thai cult film TEARS OF THE BLACK TIGER from 2000. We also get into our Top 3 "Film Betryals" - Because Kip Winger would have wanted it that way.
This week we get all "Scientific" and stuff as we take on the 'B' movie spoof from 2001 THE LOST SKELETON OF CADAVRA In an attempt to pay homage to the bad monster/alien films from the 1950's, DirActor Larry Blamire sends us on a quest as a bad scientist and wife, a mad scientist and skeleton, two aliens and their escaped pet are all searching for the elusive element "atmospherium" - think "Young Frankenstein" but with a wee smaller budget. We also talk about our top 3 films that have skeletons in 'em!
This week we swim against the current as we dissect the much talked about film UPSTREAM COLOR from DirActor Shane Carruth. Entangled in the life cycle of an ageless organism, Identity becomes an illusion as a couple struggles to assemble the loose fragments of wrecked lives - But that doesn't necessarily make it a downer! We also get into our "Top 3 DirActors", or "Actors who also Direct" (Get it? Dir-actors?
This week we travel back to 1983 as we dig into the much loved film from 2006,THIS IS ENGLAND Ben Shermans, Doc Martins and Shaved Heads set the stage for this blistering coming of age drama about a young boy desperate to find his inner compass.
