 Sci-Fi Movie Podcast – The Fifth Element | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 36:38

Hosted by Rem, Ian and Jonathan This week, Rem, Jonathan and Ian review "The Fifth Element" from 1999. This is probably the most polarizing film we've reviewed. We went from Ian absolutely hating it to Jonathan loving it, and Rem was sorta in the middle. The Positive: "The Fifth Element" is a fun and fast-paced popcorn film that's a treat for the eyes and the diversity in cast and characters will keep you entertained. The Negative: It's certainly not "The Matrix" in its depth. Actually, just about any rain puddle will be deeper. Overall: Fun for the eyes, watch it while you're reading "Game Of Thrones" Watch the full Green Screen cut of the Diva Performance Here's an interview with Maiwenn Le Besco who played the Diva.  Sci-Fi Movie Podcast – The Matrix | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:21:52

Hosted by Rem, Ian and Jonathan This week, Rem, Jonathan and Ian review "The Matrix" from 1999. This might be considered a 'gush fest', but even an excellent film such as this has its flaws and we'll certainly peel back the curtain and look at both the good and the bad. The Positive: "The Matrix" is a smart and stylish Sci-Fi Movie with a strong story line, cutting edge (for the time) special effects, a strong cast, and themes around spirituality and human existence that hit on my different levels. Whether you're looking for a fun action movie or prefer to dig into the meaty story and explore the 'Christ' comparisons with Neo being 'The One', this is a film that still stands up today, and will be considered a Sci-Fi classic for years to come. The Negative: The worst thing about "The Matrix" is actually the two films that followed, "The Matrix: Reloaded" and "The Matrix: Revolutions".  These two films tried to follow the brilliance of the first, but ultimate collapsed upon themselves. Overall: Watch "The Matrix" and stop there! Please share your comments and thoughts on The Sci-Fi Movie Podcast Facebook page or send us Email Here's Karl Pilkington's take on Superpowers:

 Sci-Fi Movie Podcast – The Last Starfighter | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 46:14

Hosted by Rem, Ian, Jonathan and Trevor This week, we welcome Trevor back to help us review "The Last Starfighter" from 1984. Ian has seen it over 140 times, Trevor and Jonathan have loved this movie since their teen years, and Rem...we'll he'd never seen it! The Positive: "The Last Starfighter" is a good, wholesome film that anyone can watch and enjoy. There's plenty of action and comedy, some inspirational moments that kids and adults can enjoy. A major theme that runs through is "Grab on to your dreams", showing that any person can achieve great things. This is one of the first movies to use computer animation, and though it doesn't hold up to today's standards, it was very groundbreaking for 1984. The Negative: A fairly thin story line and the effects look very primitive. It's too bad the actual video game didn't come out in time to accentuate the movie. Overall: A good film for Sci-Fi fans and they can feel good about sharing it with the kids. Please share your comments and thoughts on The Sci-Fi Movie Podcast Facebook page or send us Email Big thanks to Steven for leaving us a review on iTunes.  If you're looking for video or graphic design work, contact Steven at Kicker.ca To reach Trevor for graphic design work, please send a message to Rem on the Facebook and we'll get you connected.
