Interview with Rebecca Livermore (professionalcontentcreation.com) If you want to grow your business WITHOUT paying lots of money for advertising, trying to figure out Google Adsense (why is it so complicated?) or hiring an expensive PR agent, you’ll definitely want to tune in for this interview with Rebecca Livermore. Rebecca has been a professional freelance writer since 1993. Although she got her start writing articles in print magazines, she’s been a web content writer since 2006 and that’s her primary focus with her business Professional Content Creation. She is a strong believer in both social media and content marketing, knowing that businesses that embrace these types of marketing are far more likely to succeed in today’s world, than those that stick with more traditional “old school” ways of marketing. And trust me, I’ve taken all of “old school” marketing approaches in the past, and I can tell you that they’re not very effective (and they have a tendency to drain your budget). So check out this episode to learn a marketing method that IS effective to grow your business and reach more people. Interview with Wes Murph (wesleymurph.com) Meet Wes Murph–The Marketing Maniac. He might be insane or he might just be a genius. (You’ll have to listen to the episode in order to find out!) In 2006, Wes quit his high paying job in medical sales to start a pet business (insane?). Some people thought that was a crazy idea, but his pet business became world famous after he got featured on Cesar Millan’s TV show The Dog Whisperer (genius?). Fast forward to a few years down the road and Wes decided that owning a successful pet shop wasn’t what he wanted to do for the rest of his life (insane?). He decided to switch gears and started a direct response copywriting business that is currently going gangbusters (definitely genius). Listen to this GFY episode to get the real scoop from him about his entrepreneurial journey and learn his proven marketing secrets for creating two successful businesses in a row. 021: How to Escape the Entrepreneur Comparison Trap Thirty years ago, you couldn’t go online and compare your business, your life and your dreams to someone else’s. Back then, when starting a business, you couldn’t always see that many of your competitors were perhaps more talented than you, more established, had celebrity clients, or had all day long to work on their business (while you’re still stuck at your day job). On top of that, we now have social media. The tricky part about social media is that it looks like everyone is winning–all the time. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but it can be if you measure the height your success against it. These days, because of the Internet and social media, it’s really easy to to get sucked into a constant comparison trap with other people and businesses. It’s easier than ever to feel bad about yourself and your achievements as you grow your business merely based on what other people are doing. The problem is when you start a comparison cycle, you can lose momentum with your business and start second-guessing every decision you make. It’s time to escape this trap! This podcast is all about how to escape the entrepreneur comparison trap and answers the questions: How do you avoid the comparison trap? How do you go forward with your business and your dream despite all the noise and competition around you? How do you stop feeling bad when your competitors seem to be flourishing and you’re still stuck in a job? How do you stay focused on your goal when there’s a nagging voice of doubt in the back of your head? Hope you enjoy it! Will you take a moment to leave me a review on iTunes? 9 Tips for Creating Multiple Online Income Streams for your Business Earlier this summer, I wrote a blog post about how to create multiple streams of income for your business and I decided to expand on that idea and turn it into a podcast episode. When you set up multiple income streams in your own business then… (1) you no longer have to rely on just one aspect of your business to pull in all the revenue you need (2) you can mix passive and active income streams so that you’re not working dollars-for-hours all the time. Also, as you’ve probably noticed with your clients/customers/audience—some of them like to read a physical book, others like to take a course online, and there are always those who want to interact with you directly. When you can reach all of these people by creating various services and products, your audience and your business has the potential to start growing like a weed. Listen to this podcast to get 9 great tips for expanding your business, re-purposing your content and increasing the number of revenue streams into your pocket! Episode 019: The Fool-Proof Marketing Strategy for Service-Based Businesses When you run a service based business–consulting, copywriting, therapist, coach (relationship, business, health, etc), motivational speaker, or anything along those lines—you are what I would call an “expert”. As an expert, there is a specific way that you have to market yourself in order to be effective–the GIVE GIVE GIVE SELL method. The idea is that as an expert, you give tons of incredible, valuable and useful information FOR FREE to your audience and then (and only then) you sell to them. So you give and give and give and then sell. In other words, you don’t reach out to your audience/email list ONLY when you want to sell something to them. This is kind of sleezy and it can be annoying to people. Additionally, it is not going to help you create a strong following. Instead, you want to keep the communication open with your audience by giving them your best content for free. This turns you into a “giver” instead of a “taker”, which is how you want to be seen as an expert. What will learn in this podcast episode is… Why you needed to start an email list yesterday (if you haven’t already) How giving away your best content for free will help increase your sales What to do to funnel tons of people to sign up for your email list Tried and true ways to grow your audience and reach more people Hope you enjoy!
