How Disney Prepares For Disasters | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:02:22

While the odds are very, very low, it's possible that something bad will happen at a Disney Park near you - maybe even while you are visiting.  Our friend Miles was at Walt Disney World during Hurricane Irma, so today we are talking to him to find out ... How Disney Prepares for Disasters But first ... The show got off to an odd start, as our cats decided to have a full-on fight in the other room. We cut most of the pause out of the actual show, but the long version is on the video below if you want to watch an empty studio for some reason. If you listen closely you can hear both cat howls! Then we get Miles on the line. Miles, you might remember, was on our Modeling Disney show awhile back, and just happened to be in Walt Disney World when Hurricane Irma hit. We followed his progress at the resort via his Facebook updates, and after he made it back safely, we wanted to know just how Disney prepared for something like a Cat 5 hurricane. Afterwards, Terrence puts together a little information on how Disneyland would handle an emergency. Obviously we don't get hurricanes out here, but we do have earthquakes! Fact of the Show, and we are done. See you in the Parks!

We Ran with runDisney! | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:25:35

Something we never thought we'd do: pay a company for the privilege of running. However, this was no ordinary run, it was a Disney run, and that's way better than your average race weekend! Join us, as we tell you all about how ... We Ran With runDisney! But first ... We start off talking about trademark issues again, and the only original Churro Castle shirt out there despite what you see on the internet. Then we explainTerrence's new food hack involving the funnel cake at the Stage Door Cafe in Disneyland and his MaxPass review. runDisney - it was a thing we did, and overall we had a great time doing it! Even if you aren't an accomplished runner ( you know, if you are us), you'll have fun and you won't kill yourself huffing and puffing. Disney News, then the Fact of the Show, and we are gone. See you in the Parks!

The History of Snow White’s Scary Adventures | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:10:37

Fantasyland is more than just checking the ride time for Peter Pan. It's full of other rides that tend to be forgotten about. Today, we focus on one such ride, and give you a bit of ... The History of Snow White's Scary Adventures But first ... Taren is back, but we are still sans Bev this week. We talk about our official archivist Matt and what a great job he is doing tracking our show's illustrious history. There is some 100th show talk - mainly how we are sold out of tickets and we aren't sure if any more will come through. Which is sad for us. During Feedback we chat about our social club, the Main Street Fanny Packers, and how we have exactly 5 patches left in stock. Crazy to think that we have 20 members! Then it's time for the history of Snow White's Scary Adventures! Some Disney News, then the Fact of the Show, and that's it. See you in the Parks!

Interview With Author James Bohn | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:35:15

The Disney Company might have been started by a mouse, but it was music that enabled the world to fall in love with said mouse.  Today we talk with author James Bohn, who traced the history and impact of the music in Disney cartoons, and literally wrote the book on it, called, "Music in Disney's Animated Features". So sit back and get ready to learn, as we conduct an ... Interview With Author James Bohn But first ... We start with a note from Jason explaining the segment of bad audio we had in today's show, which starts at around the 19 minute mark and goes for about 15 minutes.  It's not terrible, but it's not great either.  Sorry. Both Bev and Taren are out sick, so it's just Jason and Terrence running the show.  We bring on Jeremy from SpectroRadio on early and ask him to sit in on our Feedback segment, which he does.  Then we run right into SpectroTime as Jeremy teaches us about the history of the music of the song everybody loves to hate on ... "It's a Small World". Then we get our guest on the line, James Bohn, author of the book "Music in Disney's Animated Features".  We loved this book, and James does a great job at digging deep into the musical past of the early days of Disney and how music came to play such a pivotal role in the company's future. We had a lot of fun talking with James, and can't recommend his book enough. You can grab it from our Amazon link if you want to support us at the same time. Then it's some Disney News, Fact of the Show, and that's it. See you in the Parks!

Going to Disneyland 2,000 days in a row | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:44:06

After we leave Disneyland, conversation typically goes toward fantasizing about moving to Anaheim just so we could go back every day of the week. Today we talk with Jeff Reitz who has lived our dream - and more! Yes, it's time to find out what it would be like to be ... Going To Disneyland 2,000 Days In A Row But first ... Nothing - we jump right on the phone with Jeff, who is at the Parks (of course)! We learn about how he began going to Disneyland over 5 years ago and just ... kept going.  His story is great, because it is, in a way, very Disney-esque - there's a loose redemption story in it, and Jeff was a great interview. Then we do some Feedback, and go over some of the major announcements from D23, like the new Star Wars Land for one! After that, a little Disney News, Fact of the Show, and that's it from us. See you in the Parks!     https://youtu.be/wV-2C1m7aF0

It’s Nighttime in Disneyland … Now What? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

When we talk about going to the Parks, it's usually during the day.  After all , that's when we have the most hours to enjoy our favorite places.  But what about when it's nighttime in Disneyland?  We sat down and compiled some of our favorite things to do at night, because that can be the best time to do stuff.  If one thing is certain ... It's Nighttime in Disneyland ... Now What? But first ... Bev chokes on water somehow, and we all make fun of her.  Then we do some feedback and our usual intro stuff, including a Taren's Thinks! We jump into the topic head-first, listing out our favorite things to in Disneyland at night.  For us, we see less people in the Parks at night, which is a shame because darkness affords a very different take on rides and areas than during the day. Then we do some Disney News, including talking about the very controversial removal of the redhead in Pirates of the Caribbean. Fact of the Show and we are gone. See you in the Parks!

When Disneyland is too busy | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Despite the most recent attendance numbers for the Disney Resorts, our little park in Anaheim can still get packed.  We decided to play a game - what would we do if every ride was two hours long?  What is there to actually DO in Disneyland without going on any actual rides?  Here it is: our list of things we would do ... When Disneyland is too busy! But first ... We chat about our 100th show we are recording live on November 11th, and all the cool stuff that will happen there.  Then we talk about Terrence's most recent trip to the Parks where he rode the new Guardians of the Galaxy ride!  So we had to bring our former Imagineer pal Kyle back on to get his take on that ride as well. It's Feedback time, and then we talk with our good friend Jeremy from SpectroRadio on the music of the Carousel of Progress! After, we start into the things we would do if Disneyland was packed.  At the end of it, we gave 30 things to do that are not rides but would still help you have a great time in Disneyland! Then on to the Fact of the Show, and we gone. See you in the Parks!

Our Favorite Disney Movies Of All Time | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

We talk a lot about our favorite Disney things: rides, characters, food ... but we rarely talk about films.  today we correct this mistake as we take you through  ... Our Favorite Disney Movies (of all time) But first ... We have some new t-shirt designs up on our TeePublic site, so go check those things out.  Of course, since nobody has an original ideas at all ever, we have to chat about another round of stolen Churro and Turkey Leg shirt designs.  This is the second wave of emails we have had to send to various retailers that have literally stolen our designs - including some gal on Etsy!  You think of Etsy as some site where everyone is cool and respectful, but sheesh ... Feedback is up next, and we talk about a lot of random stuff in here.  More than usual. Then we dive into our two favorite Disney movies of all time!  Why two?  Because picking just one is very, very hard, and admittedly we haven't seen them all (sorry "Hercules") so we are just trying to be fair. Disney News, then the Fact of the Show, and we are done. See you in the Parks!

The History of Space Mountain | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Few rollercoasters affect people more than Space Mountain.  Weather you are afraid of the dark, hate long lines, or are concerned that raising your hands higher than your head will result in limb loss, we all have something to fear on this ride.  Today, we ask Taren to help us overcome our fears as we are forced to tackle ... The History of Space Mountain But first ... We start by doing a Price is Right version of "Guess our number of Facebook followers", for some reason.  Then we talk briefly about his recent review of "Song of the South", and our upcoming move to Twitch, as well as plugging our 100th episode! "Taren's Thinks" makes a return to the podwaves, and, since she is doing the show today, Jason reads the Feedback.  Lucky you. Then it's time for The History of Space Mountain!  As most things in Disneyland, there's a lot to cover and more than you thought there would be. Disney News is next, followed by the Fact of the Show, and that's it for this one. See you in the Parks!

Easter Eggs in Disney Films | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Sometimes, when you watch a Disney film, you catch a glimpse of something familiar in the background. These little easter eggs are everywhere in Disney movies, and today we talk about some that we have found and where you can find them, too!  So grab your popcorn and relax as we talk about ... Easter Eggs in Disney Films But first ... We start the show thanking all of our Patreon Supporters for their donations over the last few months.  In addition to helping us pay the bills around here, we were able to finally buy Jason a new mixer!  No more knob-turning for this host! We get so caught up in that, we forget about bringing on Jeremy from SpectroRadio as our guest host for this show, as Terrence is off doing family stuff. Feedback happens, then it's time for SpectroTime with Jeremy as we talk about the Firehouse Five Plus Two. Bev and Taren run us through some Easter Eggs in Disney Films and at Disneyland, just for good measure. Then it's time for the Fact of the Show (which Jeremy ruined!) and then we gone. See you in the Parks!

Why We Want to go to the Tokyo Disney Resort | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Keeping your nose so close to the windshield of Disneyland is great, but sometimes you need to pull back and check out some of the other Parks. This week, we climb aboard the Internet and list out the many reasons ... Why we want to go to the Tokyo Disney Resort But first ... Our usual blah blah blah, which seems to segway perfectly into another episode of Taren's Thinks.  We do some Feedback, and then jump right into our show topic.  The rides and attractions at Tokyo Disneyland all seem amazing, and we run through our lists of what we would be most excited to go see. Then we do some Disney News, a timely Fact of the Show, and we gone. See you in the Parks!

EarzUp! Breaks Into Disney Research | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Disney is always on the cutting edge of technology - from the tubular steel tracks of the Matterhorn to the marvel that is Audio Animatronics.  Today we take some of their more advanced research and create our own rides.  Join us as ... EarzUp! Breaks Into Disney Research But first ... We start the show out by calling Bev, since she was out sick for the show and we don't like that.  Feedback happens, then we have our old friend Matt Staley on the line to grade our ride ideas. Using our brand new phoneline, we call Jeremy from SpectroRadio to tell us about the Food and Wine fest going on over at DCA this weekend. Even though he's an East Coast guy, he happened to be in the Parks and was more than happy (we are sure) to talk with us about this cool event. Disney News, Fact of the Show, and that's it. See you in the Parks!

Floyd Norman: An Animated Life | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

The Disney Classics are ... classics, and with good reason: they had superbly talented people undertaking huge and complicated projects for years on end, culminating in stories and films that are still relevant today.  On this show, we talk to the filmmakers of a documentary about one such man who was at the forefront of these classic films ... Floyd Norman: An Animated Life But first ... Nothing - we get right to it with filmmakers Michael Fiore and Erik Sharkey talking about their new film, "Floyd Norman: An Animated Life.  We loved this film, and both Michael and Erik did a great job getting some great stories out of Floyd in the movie - which didn't seem to involve too much coaxing.  Floyd is a very interesting guy with a massive amount of work to his credit, much of it on animated classics that helped to shape the field. To coincide with the movie release on Blu-Ray, Michael and Erik are having a contest called, "Floydering with Floyd", and all you have to do is the following: Buy a copy of the Blu-Ray Snap a photo of you with the film Post it on social media with the hashtag "#Floydering" That's it!  Anyway, thanks to the guys for coming on and talking with us about our new crush! Speaking of crushes, we have Jeremy from SpectroRadio on again to give us some more history of Disney music, then we do our feedback segment, Fact of the Show, and we are done! See you in the Parks!

The History of Splash Mountain | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Splash Mountain is an amazing place, full of long lines, slippery cement, and the scream-filled air of scared adults. The History of Splash Mountain But first ... We talk about "terrible" songs and how Bev is wrong in her opinion of music.  Then we do a little feedback, and jump right into the history of Splash Mountain. After that, it's the Fact of the show and we gone. See you in the Parks!

The History of the Partners Statue | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

By now, most things In Disneyland are not secret, despite what most click-bait articles tell you.  The Partners Statue is one of those things that, while not secret by any means, does have a cool history  with some lesser-known points of interest. Taren takes the lead and gives us ... The History of the Partners Statue But first ... Of course we stumble over the intro, and Jason laments the fact that we don't have an archivist, so if anyone wants to work for free and taking notes on our shows, just holler. We also announce that Terrence will be doing the next classic review of  "Song of the South", and he could not be more excited.  Our D23 update happens, for those of you who were planing on meeting us there, and Taren's Thinks returns with some deep thoughts about vitamins.  Jason reads the feedback for Taren, since it's her show and that's a lot of talking for her to do. Then it's Taren's turn to shine as she tells us all about the Partners Statue in Disneyland! We do some feedback, then the Fact of the Show, and we gone! See you in the Parks!         Save Save
