It's been 3 years since the last episode of the Voice Over Marketing Podcast. In this episode I explain my time away from the mic and how I weathered the Pandemic. I interviewed my friend and business coach Rob Berkley shortly before he was diagnosed with cancer about how to get out of a funk, rut, groove, inertia, etc. Something that I have been in for various reasons Rob Berkley Unfortunately, Rob passed away in December of 2018. I wanted our interview to be the next episode of the podcast. It has taken a while to get here. Rob’s last words to me on our final coaching call were: “John, you’re a ‘Finisher.’ Finish what you start.” Well, I’ve started a lot of things, this podcast being one of them. James Alburger is My Guest in Episode 63: Audio production, video editing and voiceover have been part of James’ life since he was about 12 years old when he literally taught himself how to edit music with a grease pencil, razor blade and scotch tape. James had a 25-year career with NBC television in San Diego during which he received eleven Emmy Awards for audio production and sound design. Upon leaving NBC, James opened VoiceActing, LLC as an independent producer, voiceover talent, and performance coach. His book, “The Art of Voice Acting,” was first published in 1998 and is currently in its fifth edition.
