Out Now with Aaron and Abe

This week’s episode of Out Now with Aaron and Abe takes a step back into the campy direction of a cult classic soap opera. Adam Gentry (and, briefly, a very special guest) join Aaron and Abe to discuss the new Tim Burton/Johnny Depp film, Dark Shadows, a theatrical remake of the old TV series of the same name. Is this strangely fitting for a Mother’s Day episode? Maybe. Still, the gang does get a chance to go over a couple new trailers (Gangster Squad and The Campaign), as well as participate in the regular segments, including “Know Everybody”, “Movie Callback”, Box Office results, and the return of one of the older games. Plenty of supernatural goodness this week to enjoy. So now, if you’ve got an hour to kill…

Time for another Bonus Round with Aaron and Abe. This special episode of Out Now with Aaron and Abe is the first where the gauntlet has been thrown down and Aaron, Abe, and guests Alan Aguilera, Mark Hobin, and Adam Gentry are tasked with making a big wager. This is the 1st Annual Top Summer Movies Gamble, where everyone has made a list of what they think will be the top ten biggest films of the summer (in regards to box office). So each participant has created their own list (and added a few dark horses as well) and the podcast lays out the rules and how scoring will work when they reconvene for a follow up show in September at some point. And then the guys go over there list and bicker as to why they think they are in the right. Hilarious hijinks, of course, ensue. So now, if you’ve got an hour to kill…

This week’s episode of Out Now with Aaron and Abe is an assembly of several voices who have come together in an effort to talk about one of the biggest movie events of the year, The Avengers. Aaron and Abe are joined by Why So Blu’s Brian White and Sean Ferguson, as well as Fast Film Review’s Mark Hobin, and this entire group does in fact go into a lengthy discussion about this Superhero Cinematic Opus. There are of course the regular segments as well; including “Know Everybody”, “Trailer Talk” (Expendables 2 and The Dark Knight Rises), “Box Office Results”, “Movie Call-Back”, and then some spoiler talk at the very end of the episode. This is certainly one super-powered episode. So now, if you’ve got an hour to kill…

This week’s double movie review episode of Out Now with Aaron and Abe features the arrival of our newest guest, Matt Goodman. Matt joins Aaron and Abe in talk about just how much endearing fun The Pirates! A Band of Misfits has to offer, before Aaron and Abe then settle in to discuss how bland and bad The Raven is. The regular segments are back this week as well, including “Know Everybody”, Trailer Talk (The House at the End of the Street and Magic Mike), “Movie Call Back”, box office results and predictions, and of course games. We also announce the contest winner for our Cabin in the Woods T-shirt Contest and that the very end of the episode, Abe wrestles a bear!

Time for another Bonus Commentary Episode! With The Avengers coming out in the very near future, Aaron and Abe decided to record another special bonus episode that relates to this very ambitious comic book film event. The Incredible Hulk was the film the group all decided to do a commentary for, which leads to Aaron, Abe, and guests Jordan Grout and Jim Dietz discussing the various positives and negatives about all the Avengers ‘prequels’ in general, as well as the Ang Lee version of Hulk. Of course, there is always plenty of random banter going on throughout are the wacky Out Now commentaries as well, so if you’re a trooper, have fun settling in and listening to this, with or without the movie playing at the same time.

The best thing about this lengthy episode of Out Now with Aaron and Abe is the high amount of energy that Abe, Aaron, and special guest Scott Mendelson have in delving into all the various films that they mention and in particular the two films subject to review for this week. The trio get into Lockout (Space Jail), move onto spoiler-free talk about Cabin in the Woods, and spend a whole extra chunk of time at the end of the episode diving into spoiler-heavy talk about Cabin in the Woods (alerts are given). The regular segments are here as well, including “Know Everybody”, Trailer Talk (Looper and Chernobyl Diaries), Movie Call Back, Box Office Talk, and more. The gang also lays out a New Contest in the spoiler section of the film, so stay tuned for that. It’s another packed episode and certainly fitting for those that saw Cabin in the Woods and want to hear an in-depth discussion on it.

He made the mistake of bringing a pie to a gun fight. This week’s episode of Out Now with Aaron and Abe features Aaron, Abe, and special guest Alan Aguilera piling tons of love hits on The Raid: Redemption. There is also talk about American Reunion, which was initially going to be some sparse thoughts, but turned into a full review. They also discuss trailers (Ted and Savages), along with box office results, other recommended films to check out, and get into regular segments like “Know Everybody”, while having lots of fun and games as well. A somewhat shorter show, but it is still packed with movie talking goodness.

This week’s episode of Out Now with Aaron and Abe is another packed affair. The main review of the week is Wrath of the Titans and Aaron and Abe are joined by Laremy Legal to better discuss the epic-ish Greek action sequel. We also have the other segments. First up, there are plenty of announcements, including the winners of the contest, which was setup last week. The winner even provided us a question that is answered on the show. We then have “Know Everybody”, trailer talk (Total Recall and The Raven), box office results, “Instead or Because of”, games, and plenty of other fun. Lots to get done, but at least we recorded while riding on a winged Pegasus.

This special bonus episode of Out Now with Aaron and Abe is missing an Abe, but does have an Aaron, and he is joined by Adam Gentry and Mark Hobin to discuss a couple of the recent Art House, Foreign, and Independent films that have been in theaters. A few different films are discussed, but special emphasis is placed on The Kid with a Bike, Bully, and A Separation. This is much more a free form show, as the trio simply discusses several films and forgoes having all of the regular show segments. That said, there is certainly plenty of content to check out.

Time for another Bonus Commentary Episode! For whatever reason, Aaron and Abe have decided to spend more time adding their thoughts over films that they felt like watching together, along with a couple guests – Jordan Grout and Jim Dietz. Say what you will about how much one learns during these commentaries, but at least they manage to have a good time watching the film, despite the many tangents they go on. Anyway, if you happen to have access to the original 1981 Clash of the Titans or feel like listening to random chatter about the movie, without actually watching it, here is one way to do so.

And here it is, Episode 50! This week’s episode of Out Now with Aaron and Abe is recorded in front of a live audience; voiced in color; presented in 3D (so I hope everyone has their special Out Now Glasses), full of surprises (including evil twins and crazy plot twists), and we announce a brand new contest (with a sweet prize). Also, someone will die at the end of the episode. Joining Aaron and Abe in this fun filled episode are Jordan Grout and Liz Manashil, who will be helping to review The Hunger Games. There is also the inclusion of all the favorite segments – “Know Everybody”, “Instead or Because Of”, “Trailer Talk” (we talk about a lot of trailers this time around), Box Office results, games, and some other fun stuff. As mentioned, this is our 50th episode, so listen up and pay attention for the various bits of banter, announcements made, and additional Easter eggs and bloopers.

This week’s episode of Out Now with Aaron and Abe is actually subtitled during one of our reviews. Well that is not entirely true, but Aaron, Abe, and guest Gerard Iribe do take part in reviewing not one, but two comedies – 21 Jump Street, starring Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum, and Casa De Mi Padre, starring Will Ferrell. The regular segments follow as well, including “Know Everybody”, trailer talk (Dark Shadows and Prometheus), box office results, “Instead or Because of”, some games, as well as some brief discussion of WonderCon 2012, which Aaron was part of on the weekend of this recording. It’s another packed episode indeed.

This week’s episode of Out Now with Aaron and Abe takes us to the fourth rock from the sun, as Aaron, Abe, and guests Scott Mendelson and Jordan Grout all take part in a fairly lengthy discussion of John Carter. Lots to talk about and the review certainly is hefty. Also lengthy are discussions of the trailers for Men in Black 3 and Finding Nemo 3D. The usual segments follow as well, including “Know Everybody”, box office results and predictions, deciding what to watch with “Instead or Because of”, and some games and other fun. Plenty of talk, plenty of tangents, and Jordan certainly has more to say about this film than Tyler Perry’s Good Deeds. And also stay tuned at the end to hear some slight spoiler talk as well.

This week’s episode of Out Now with Aaron and Abe is a double episode of family oriented fun. Aaron and Abe are joined by Just Seen It’s Liz Manashil and Leah Ducey (for basically an extended cameo, yeah!) to discuss a couple trailers (Piranha 3DD and Frankenweenie) and to review Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax and Studio Ghibli’s The Secret World of Arrietty. The group also has time for the other segments, including “Know Everybody”, “Instead Or Because Of”, box office results, and of games. Got a lot done, with plenty of things to cover, in wonderful animated detail.

This special bonus episode of Out Now with Aaron and Abe is all about the Oscar results. Well that’s not entirely true, special guest Jordan Grout joins Aaron and Abe to discuss his thoughts on Tyler Perry’s Good Deeds (someone had to), but after that, the group then dives into what took place on Oscar night. Not a lot of frill to this episode, just enough to let everyone know how good or bad these guys were at predicting this year’s winners. And who doesn’t like getting bonus episodes?
