Salvation comes only through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Though we are made in the image of God, we are stained and tainted by sin. That sinfulness is branded upon our nature and is the result of the disobedience of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. We are therefore separated from God, eternally condemned to death, and even objects of His wrath. Only by the atoning sacrifice of Jesus on the cross and His resurrection can we regain access to God and taste of the deep joy of walking in relationship with Him.
God longs to reveal His heart and nature to us. He desires to be known, and He pursues us in relationship. He is an amazing, living, loving, powerful, perfect, holy, just, and good God who is, in His essence and character, everything our hearts truly long for. He is the creator of all things, and all things exist for His honor and glory.
"For as a man thinks in his heart, so is he." What we believe is a huge factor in who we are. God has graciously allowed us the freedom to choose what we believe. And at the core of our faith is what we think about Jesus: do we believe that He is the son of God, and that He has power and authority in our everyday lives? What we believe in our heart always trumps what we believe in our head.
