This is Mark Gray from the DoubleVision Conditioning Centre. In today’s video, I’m going to give you a quick tip to help increase the quality of your sleep. Now a lot of people when they start going through menopause, or indeed, throughout life, generally struggle to sleep well. When I say sleep well, I mean your head hits the pillow and you wake up the next day without any interrupted or break in sleep. Magnesium Reduction and Sleepless Nights Now, a lack of sleep or a poor quality of sleep is often caused by a reduction in a mineral called “magnesium.” Now this occurs naturally with the menopause, but also when you exercise and when you eat processed foods. Magnesium Chelates Versus Magnesium Oxide So a simple way to try and increase the quality of your sleep is to increase the mineral magnesium in your body. To simply do this, you want to be taking a magnesium supplement – particularly, that contains particularly magnesium chelates, and not oxide. Okay? So generally, it’s a slightly more expensive magnesium, but it is 10 times more effective than the cheaper version. So if you want anymore tips, just simply put your details in the box below. I’m Mark Gray. Stephen: And I’m Stephen. Mark:  So today, I’ve drafted a few notes on the kind of outline of what I want us to speak about. Stephen: Hey, hang on, hang on. Who drafted the notes? Mark: So today, Stephen’s drafted a few notes on what we’re going to be talking about. But first things first, I wanted to say thanks for all the feedback. We’re getting this really positive, really good – and it kind of rejuvenates us so it makes us want to record more and more. So thank you very much. But also, first things first, even more, just to find out what we kind of got up in the weekend because contrary to what a lot of people think, we don’t live together. We don’t speak about… Stephen: Well, because we’re men, we don’t talk about like what we got up to… Mark: Personal things. Stephen: Personal things. So yes, we don’t necessarily always know what the other one has been up to. Mark: This is kind of a catch up actually for us as well because we’re obviously pretty busy. But yes, anyway, what did you get up to? Stephen: I went to McDonalds. Mark: Wow. Yes. Philip the face was looking a bit… Stephen: [Laughs] No. I went to McDonalds, and before anyone loses faith in me and thinks I’ve gone off the rails, it was always a matter of time that they – but I went to McDonalds on Sunday morning. Me and some friends, we were going to do some tough amount of training. A tough amount, if no one knows, is where you’re running over obstacles and doing different sorts of things. Actually, we’re actually doing the Spartan race training. So it’s Spartan races for the DVCCs. So for every client of DVCC they can do Spartan race training. That is kind of building up to eventually, hopefully, a Tough Mudder. Tough Mudder is like a big, 12-mile course. So anyway, we went away to a place called Chicksands to train there, and I wanted a coffee to start the day because it was Sunday morning and I wanted my coffee, but we couldn’t find anywhere. So a friend suggested we went to McDonalds because apparently they do a decent coffee. I know it’s not organic so it’s not ideal, but I chose to have the coffee anyway that day. So we got. I didn’t really know what was going on. I haven’t been there for a long, long time. I bumped – well, I hit the curve, for one, because there’s calls back type. Then I started talking to a pole because I didn’t know where I was supposed to take my order. I always assumed there was a person you used to speak to, but now I think you speak to a microphone, but I chose the wrong thing so I started speaking to a pole, which apparently… Mark: It doesn’t get your order. Stephen: It doesn’t get your order. Yes. So I got myself a coffee, but it was quite interesting and I noted how easy they make it to buy. I thought that that’s part of their strategy in that a lot of people, when you go into McDonalds, is because you want to grab a quick bite to eat. Mark: It’s fast food, right? Stephen: It’s fast food, right? Exactly. And so it’s similar to the Amazon 1-Click thing.

Are You Slipping Back Into Your Old Ways? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:51

In this Episode:  00:04 – How slipping back into your old ways deters your weight loss progress 00:13 – Diets and how people perceive them 00:30 – What are habits, why do people keep slipping back to their old habits and how to create healthy   habits to achieve weight loss success 01:04 - An actual step to creating a healthy habit in 21 days   Hi! This is Mark Gray from the DoubleVision Conditioning Centre with another top tip. So this is one of the main reasons that people stop making progress or their progress slows. That’s because they start slipping back into their old ways. Diets versus Habits Now this happens a lot when people do diets. Now diets and the word, I think, is people often view them as very short term. That’s why we don’t do diets in our transformation centers. We try and create habits – lifestyle habits and health habits that will help lead to people achieving their goals. Now a habit is something you do without thinking. It’s doing your hair, which I clearly don’t have a habit because I haven’t done it today. But it’s brushing their teeth, it’s drinking water and eating. It’s things you do without thinking. If you can create health habits, the habits that will lead to you losing that weight, you’re much, much more likely to achieve your goals and it’s going to be a lot less stressful. So a lot of people fall into doing the things they used to do that actually allow them to put that weight on. That’s because they haven’t changed their habits and created new healthy habits. Creating a Healthy Habit in 21 Days So an actual step for you would be to identify what you think you do that detracts or stops you getting to where you want to be and try and change that into a healthy habit. It might well be having breakfast. It might be drinking three liters of water a day. Whatever it is you want to do for 21 days, because that’s how long it takes to create a habit. If you do it for 21 days consecutively and consistently, then you are very, very likely to have made that into a habit and you will be doing that without thinking soon enough. So if you want any more information, simply put your email in the box below and we shall send it to you straight away. Bye-bye.   Please leave your comments below:

Are You Being Honest With Yourself? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:26

In this Episode: Mark Gray from the DoubleVision Conditioning Centre explains: How people sometimes aren’t honest about food intake and weight loss activities. How to prevent dishonesty by writing food diaries or taking photos of your food An actual step to break through weight loss dishonesty     Hi! This is Mark Gray from the DoubleVision Conditioning Centre. We’re going to give you another top reason people stop making progress and also a way to break through this barrier. Dishonesty With Meals and Activities One of the main reasons people stop making progress or their progress slows is because they kind of aren’t honest with themselves about what they’re doing. This can be with respect to the food they’re eating or the activities they are taking part in. So a lot of people, in fact some studies show that people misjudge the calories and the things they’re actually putting in their mouth in a day. Ways to Get Past Dishonesty So one of the main ways to get past this is to either write a food diary so that you’re conscious of what you’re actually eating in the day, in the week, or to take photos of every single meal that you have. We get a lot of our clients to take photos of the food that they’re having in a day because it’s really helpful for us to see the portion size, but also see what they’re putting in their mouth, and it’s also very important for the client to realize what they’re eating. Food Diaries and Photos So an actual step for you would be to either complete a food diary. So write down what you’re eating in a day or take photos of the food. It makes you a lot more mindful, a little more conscious of what you’re actually eating. If you want any more help, just put your details or your email in the box below. We’ll be sure to send it to you straight away.   Please leave your comments below:
