Well I finally pulled the plug on the old episodes and decided to start fresh. In this episode I explain my decision to delete all the old episodes, talk a little bit about Libertarian presidential candidate Gary Johnson, and sign off with a simple question for the listeners.
WOW! It has been quite some time since I've had a chance to post, and I am very sorry for that. Nevertheless, here is a brand new episode for you all! In this episode I talk a little about the failures of Obamacare, and ask what really needs to be done to fix healthcare in America.
I received news today that "Stand Your Ground" legislation is in the works here in Ohio, so I decided I should talk briefly about what these laws really are. With all the misinformation out there in the wake of the Zimmerman verdict, I thought it was only necessary to give a little bit of background on what it really means when someone invokes "Stand Your Ground".
It's been almost an entire month since I've recorded a show, and while there's been plenty to talk about with more government scandals unfolding, I have just been so busy with other stuff in my life that the podcast had to take a back seat for a few weeks. In this episode I talk about why I think George Zimmerman will not be convicted of murdering Trayvon Martin. Just a note: I am not "making predictions" of the outcome of the case. Rather, I am simply giving my opinion of the outcome based on the facts that I have.
3 big scandals have been in the news this month regarding the Obama administration. Despite the fact that these scandals involve his administration, Obama has cleverly tried to avoid taking any type of responsibility.
I have been getting some great feedback from you guys and I want to thank you all very much. This episode stems from a listener submitted topic that asks, "What needs to happen to America to bring a Libertarian President into office or at least into a mainstream venue?". I give my thoughts in this episode, feel free to email me what YOU think! (blakeoates at gmail)
My thoughts on immigration may not be 100% libertarian, but they are certainly better than anything Washington is coming up with.
My triumphant return after over a month of silence! Really though, I've just been very busy. In this episode I talk about the how in the aftermath of major tragedies, the search for who to blame can often lead to faulty reasoning. EDIT: Guess who forgot to actually tell you all the email address? blakeoates at gmail.com
I will admit that this episode is a bit bit jumpy, but I recorded it all on the fly. I was listening to Glenn Beck one morning and was reminded why I do not call myself "conservative". This got me thinking about what principles are so important to libertarians, that they force us to separate ourselves from the false dichotomy of the American Left-Right political spectrum.
It's been over a month since I put an episode together and I apologize for that. Every time I take a break like that I get a bit rusty behind the mic, but I would like to believe that this isn't too terrible of an episode. The topic is how media lies eventually become facts, and how those "facts" can easily be used to rally support for unnecessary legislation.
I don't usually watch the State of the Union Address, but the news coverage of it got me to thinking about the true state of our great country. In this episode I outline 3 major points that should be addressed by Washington if our representatives truly want to improve our nation.
Some how I managed to put this together at the last minute. In this episode I take on some of the anti-gun talking points that have been repeated far too often. Since the Sandy Hook shooting, the gun control debate has been back on the front lines and I have made it a point to take on three of the most common pro-control arguments I have been hearing. I also offer a counter argument to the pro-control side.
My first recording in a long time, so I am quite shaky. In this episode I explain the reason for ending Experimental Medicine and starting this show, and I give a very brief description of my definition of libertarianism.
