Dr. Jed Jones is based in Las Vegas, so that means he has his finger on the pulse of the boxing world, but he also knows tennis, golf and other sports. We also discuss kid’s injuries and how to prevent them. He also tells those of us that spend endless hours on out computers how to stay pain-free.

Our guest is one of the fastest rising tennis stars in the world. Maria Sanchez. She was a star at USC, and she turned professional in 2011. In 2012 she won two titles on the USTA Pro Circuit, in Sacramento and Albuquerque. She is currently ranked number 127 in the world and will be competing next week in Atlanta.

Athletes come in all shapes and sizes and usually take a risk when they get out on their field of play. It’s no different with cheerleaders, as they have been in the news recently as the push was on to make cheerleading a sport and give them the same resources and care that athletes like football and basketball players get. Make no mistake about it, cheerleaders are athletes and the sport is dangerous. With 400,000 high school cheerleaders, 123,000 on competitive cheerleading teams and up to another 10,000 in colleges and universities, this is a popular sport.

It’s being billed as the most exclusive tennis pro-am in the world… I’m talking about the Necker Cup. This December, tennis players and tennis fans from around the world can join the pros and Sir Richard Branson on Necker Island, Sir Richard Branson’s private island in the British Virgin Islands. It’s a beautiful setting and an impressive lineup of people that will be present Dec. 9 -13.

Sports is serious business and so is technology, so when I can have someone on to make a little light of the world we live in, I love it. We will do that with Robby McGhee, talk about his comedy, talk some sports and have a bunch of laughs tonight with a secret guest Amy Williams.

Tennis is more than just tournaments like the U.S. Open and Wimbledon. On the professional level there are 100’s of smaller tournaments played around the globe with players looking to break into the big time. We talk with Troy University Tennis Coach Eric Hayes.

They say everybody should write a book, well my guest tonight has written more than one and he’s having a good time doing it. He’s James Ross and he writes fictional golf books with the setting being the Prairie Woods Golf Course just outside of St. Louis. From Lifetime Loser to Finish Line and on to Tuey’s Course. Then Opur’s Blade and his most recent release, Pabby’s Score in 2012, Ross puts into words the goings on that we all see at golf courses around America, with a bunch of twists. With a lot going on in the world of tennis, I’ve have two guests who have opinions and insight into what goes on, on and off the court. After a little talk about the 2012 U.S. Open, we will shift the conversation into a debate and talk about the USTA’s 10 and Under tennis initiative. A couple years ago the USTA went “all in” with 10 and Under Tennis and the thought that teaching kids the game of tennis on a smaller court with “slow bouncing” balls would be the way to go.
