How to make a simple and elegant collapsible magazine rack.
We drove all the way up to Petaluma, CA to deliver the gadget station to the one and only, Leo Laporte.
Hinge installation, pegging the tenons in the doors, making custom ebony handles, and finishing. I end the video with a justification of my design.
Resawing spalted maple panels on the bandsaw using Laguna's Resaw King. Gluing up the doors and creating the ebony plugs for the case. Fitting inset doors.
Cutting/fitting door components. Mortise and tenon joinery for the rails and stiles. A lapse in judgement results in an injury and the need for a repair.
Ebony adornments. Chopping a small mortise. The final glueup.
Installing rare earth magnets. Using a #7 jointer plane. Gluing up sub-assemblies. The Final Cut blade makes an appearance.
The legs are cut from the bubinga blanks, and I finally have an opportunity to do a dry fit.
