Yarns and Tales: Planes, Chains, and WIPs | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 20:20

This 32nd episode of YaT found difficulty in taking off on Thursday due to caster error.  It was grounded until Friday morning.  The rescheduled casting had technical troubles in its 2nd attempt but was successful in its 3rd attempt.  It seemed to be an uneventful casting until a surprise guest kept interrupting the episode, coming and going through conversations about generating more WIPs and creative lunch plans.  This is like no other YaT episode before.  Come on and join us -- It's Yarns and Tales!

Yarns and Tales: Too Much Stuff | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 26:08

It's episode 31, and it starts off dealing with "stuff".  We all have it, don't we?  The from "stuff" to blinking to froggin' to huge spiders to cat models to finger knitting and kids, I chatter about so many things this week.  I hope somewhere in my tales some amount of grinning happens your way.  Join me, why don't ya?  It's Yarns and Tales!

Yarns and Tales: Cozy Mugs and Time Warps | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 24:15

It's episode 30 of Yarns and Tales, and it cast on without a hitch or snag.  The topic of choice today was yarn-crafted mug cozies, specifically one by JanKnit over on Blogspot that she created called Basic Cup Cozy.  I also chatted a bit about online paid surveys and the use of my time warping device.  So, Howdy y'all! Welcome to Yarns and Tales!

Yarns and Tales: Frogging and Repurposing | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 27:54

Episode 29 cast on without a hitch after taking a week off for the American holiday celebrating its 237th birthday.  In this episode, I talk about re-purposing and re-using my children's early practice projects with finger knitting and the hand-crank "Barbie" knitting machine.  I also chat about cats and fireworks as well as jury duty.  I hope you find the time to tune in and listen to this next edition of Yarns and Tales!

Yarns and Tales: Pet Sweaters and Pet Peeves | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 24:07

I cast on episode 28 full of energy and "southern-ness".  I jumped right in chatting about pet sweaters, pet peeves, and a handful of other things peppered throughout.  Need a good giggle?  Come have a listen.  Welcome to Yarns and Tales!!! Curious how the sweater turned out?  See for yourself here.

Yarns and Tales: Hookin’ and Bikin’ | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 27:20

I went to cast on episode 27 with no idea where I'd end up.  I knew where I would begin, but after that, it was as much of a surprise to me as to y'all.  The YaT chat starts off with crochet tidbits which eventually ended me up on a bicycle and eating diet cookies.  Come have a listen!  It's Yarns and Tales!!

Yarns and Tales: The Yarn, The Frog, and The Hook | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 26:29

Not only did episode 26 cast on in a timely fashion, it also cast on without incident.  In this episode, I give grief about "that" yarn in the stash that refuses to reveal its hidden project.  Most yarn addicts just "know" what lies hidden within that skein, hank, or ball of yarn, but sometimes, the leftovers aren't quite so revealing.  You start a project.  You frog the project and rewind the yarn.  You start another project with the same yarn.  You frog it.  You rewind it.  You get the picture.  Come join me as I tell the tale of The Yarn, The Frog, and The Hook!

Yarns and Tales: Kids, Cats, and Reviews | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 27:58

Life happened and delayed the casting of episode 25 by a few days, but now it's here; the panic can dissipate.  Just teasing!  I'm glad you could join me as I review the last 12 episodes from the leftovers' usage and new stitches sequence of shows.  I dish out some advice about preteens and teenage kids as well as prattle on a little bit about my poor kitty Gracie.  Let's get going, why don't we??  It's Yarns and Tales!!

Yarns and Tales: Lace Squares, Jelly Arms, and Cookies | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 27:54

Howdy y'all!  Welcome to episode 24 of Yarns and Tales.  This episode falls on the end of the week following the American Memorial Day holiday.  Do holidays throw your habits into a blender and make a mush of your remaining week?  In this episode, I talk about the pattern for Lace Squares #1, working in the yard, junk shopping, and cookies.  Join me, why don't ya?  It's Yarns and Tales!

Yarns and Tales: The Cats Eye and Nerdy Needles | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 24:13

The 23rd episode of Yarns and Tales cast on without a hitch, no tech-gremlins anywhere.  In this episode, I have fun with a stitch called the Cats Eye Stitch.  I compare knitting to computer programming, only we code with needles and yarn.  And I talked about, oh wait, how about I just let you listen in to find out.  Welcome to Yarns and Tales!

Yarns and Tales: Garter Lace and A Happy Face | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 19:20

Episode 22's cast on was delayed due to illness, but it held a perky bit of chatter along with another new "leftover's" stitch called the Garter Lace Stitch. To my Yatters, thank you for your patience for this episode!!

Yarns and Tales: The Lace, The Reel, and The Sick | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 21:22

Episode 21 casts off with your host, me, recuperating from the nasty sore throat that followed the casting of episode 20.  With raspy throat, yarn, and needles, the adventure begins as another new stitch is talked about this week.  Which stitch you ponder?  It's the Horizontal Lace Stitch #1.  This particular book being used has two horizontal lace stitches so they were numbered "1" and "2" in the book.  Settle in y'all! It's Yarns and Tales!

Yarns and Tales: The Bamboo Stitch and A Reel Deal | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 24:39

We've made it 20 episodes with YaT!! It took a couple of takes to cast this episode, but it happened.  Instead of chasing the Tunisian crochet stitch which I found I didn't really like, I opted to do the Bamboo stitch.  This fun little pattern is super easy and visually clean and simple.  Even better is the very neat and textured reverse, or wrong, side.  After explaining and discussing the Bamboo, I tell the tale of my new lawn mower, a REEL mower.  My inner child ran amok as a grown up eco-nerd with a new toy.  Join me and have a listen.  It's time for Yarns and Tales!!

Yarns and Tales: The Tweeds and The Weeds | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 24:16

Episode 19 was cast on with the lingering echoes of busy neighbors and their yard works.  Once in motion, our leftover sampling stitch for this episode, the Tweed stitch, was easy-peasy.  We babbled about yarn, lawns, weeds, Boston, and being wayward in our thoughts.  We also talked about, um, something else... Just kidding.  Please have a listen.  It's Yarns and Tales!

Yarns and Tales: The Chalice and The Stones | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 27:18

Aside from a minor scratchy voice, episode 18 casts on without a hitch.  This show finds us talking about our new sample stitch, called the Chalice Stitch, as well as chatting about outdoor Spring cleaning and garden prepping.  Reclaiming a portion of my rock garden for a vegetable garden proves to be a wee bit of work as there are a lot of stones to move.  Join us as we explore the baby steps of cable knitting while practicing the basket weave stitch today on Yarns and Tales.
