The Struggle Continues | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

There’s an old saying that tells us “if life gives you a bunch of lemons, then make lemonade.” Okay, I get it. When struggles come our way, we make the best out what we have. Personally, I like lemonade! Hello and welcome to Old Fort Baptist Church in Summerville, South Carolina where for decades the Truth of God’s Word has been preached for all to hear. Pastor Eric Lethco continues his series WALKING THE ROMAN ROAD with today’s message, THE STRUGGLE CONTINUES. In Romans 7:4 we find Paul sharing the reason for our being released from the law. He says it’s so “we might bear fruit to God.” Have you ever considered what kind of fruit you are? Even with the struggles we all face each day, we still must produce fruit. Pastor Eric’s message will help us define our NEW OBJECTIVE, a NEW PERSPECTIVE and a NEW DIRECTIVE. So, open your Bible to Romans 7:1-25 and join with us while we’re WALKING THE ROMAN ROAD together.

The Resurrection: Do You Believe? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

In the 1970s, a rock music group had an instant hit with a song called “I Believe in Miracles.” The chorus of that song says “I believe in a better world for me and you…I believe.” Those are some powerful words if one truly believes. Hello and welcome to Old Fort Baptist Church in Summerville, South Carolina where for decades the Truth of God’s Word has been preached for all to hear. Pastor Eric Lethco continues his series WALKING THE ROMAN ROAD with today’s Easter Sunday message, THE RESURRECTION: DO YOU BELIEVE? In John 11, we find some more powerful words with a pointed question at the end. It says “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live…Do you believe this?” The resurrection of Jesus Christ validates the authenticity of His claims, illustrates His power over sin and death and demonstrates the truth of the gospel message. So, open your Bible to Romans 10:9-10 and join with us while we’re WALKING THE ROMAN ROAD together.

A Slave To Righteousness | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

I was seated with about fifty teenagers on the shoreline of a Caribbean island when I heard something that would stay with me for the rest of my life. It was during a weekend chapel youth retreat that the chaplain told each of us what was ALWAYS in the middle of sin. Hello and welcome to Old Fort Baptist Church in Summerville, South Carolina where for decades the Truth of God’s Word has been preached for all to hear. Pastor Eric Lethco continues his series WALKING THE ROMAN ROAD with today’s message, A SLAVE TO RIGHTEOUSNESS. For being such a small three-letter word, sin can do some mighty big damage. Here’s what I learned and hope you will, too. What is in the middle of sin? I am. Spell it out. S-I-N! “I” is always in the middle of sin. Get it? We will be reading from Romans 6:15-23. The Apostle Paul wrote about sin in these verses. Pastor Eric will make it clear to us what sin is and what it will do. So, open your Bible and join with us while we’re WALKING THE ROMAN ROAD together.

The Consequences of Grace | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Many years ago there was a show called Truth or Consequences. It started on the radio in 1940 and began airing on television in 1950s…running for almost fifty years. One of the young hosts was a man named Bob Barker. At the end of the show Barker would look directly in the camera and say “Here’s hoping all your consequences are happy ones!” Hello and welcome to Old Fort Baptist Church in Summerville, South Carolina where for decades the Truth of God’s Word has been preached for all to hear. Pastor Eric Lethco continues his series WALKING THE ROMAN ROAD with today’s message, THE CONSEQUENCES OF GRACE. On the TV show, if a contestant didn’t answer a trivia question within two seconds, they would have to suffer the consequences. Everything we do, in our life, has consequences. In Romans 6:12, the scripture says to us “Do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires.” Christ died for us so that we could live for Him. His gift of grace has consequences. His gift of salvation through grace makes all things new. That will definitely make your consequences happy. So, open your Bible and join with us while we’re WALKING THE ROMAN ROAD together.

The Undisputed Champion of the World | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Do you remember hearing someone in the world of boxing say “I float like a butterfly and sting like a bee?” This man did dance around the ring and spouted words that rhymed almost all the time.  The Work of Faith | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

There is a word that is used 270 times in the New International Version of the Bible. Can you guess what it is? Here are a couple of hints. It’s as small as a mustard seed and you can tell a mountain to get up and move or throw itself into the sea if you have it. Give up? Hello and welcome to Old Fort Baptist Church in Summerville, South Carolina where for decades the Truth of God’s Word has been preached for all to hear. The word for today is FAITH. Pastor Eric Lethco continues his series WALKING THE ROMAN ROAD with his message – The Work of Faith. The Lord was having a conversation with Abram, it’s recorded in Genesis, about Abram having a son after having no children at all for many, many years. What Abram did was believe God could and would do what He said. Abram had true faith and that is what credited him as a righteous man. Today, we’ll learn what faith and salvation can do for us. So, open your Bible to Romans, chapter four, and join with us while we’re WALKING THE ROMAN ROAD together.

Blinded By The Light | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Back in the early 70’s, rocker Bruce Springsteen wrote and recorded a song called “Blinded by the Light.” It was made popular when Manfred Mann’s Earth Band took it to number one on the Billboard charts in 1976. Hello and welcome to Old Fort Baptist Church in Summerville, South Carolina where for decades the Truth of God’s Word has been preached for all to hear. In that song, the lyrics say “momma told me not to look into the eyes of the sun” with a reply of “but momma, that’s where the fun is.” Pastor Eric Lethco continues his series WALKING THE ROMAN ROAD with today’s message – Blinded By The Light. In his text, Romans 2:17-29, we’ll explore three things that will NOT save you, like a national or family heritage, a working knowledge of the Bible and being active in church. All of that is “in the light” but it may be blinding you from the real Truth. So, open your Bible and join with us while we’re WALKING THE ROMAN ROAD together.

The Trap Of Religion | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

I know we all look forward to a certain time of the month or maybe even every other week. We’ve worked and now it’s time to get paid.  Why Is God So Angry Part #2 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Why is God So Angry Part #1 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Several years ago, there was a television show in which a character tries to find a way to tap into the hidden strengths that all humans have. In the opening line of the program he would say “…don’t make me angry. You won’t like me when I’m angry.” Hello and welcome to Old Fort Baptist Church in Summerville, South Carolina where for decades the Truth of God’s Word has been preached for all to hear.
