 In Step, Week 8: Gentleness | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:35:47

In Step, Week 8: Gentleness Gentleness was not an overly exciting character trait to possess in the first century. It was seen as the halfway point between excessive anger and complete ambivalence – a very meh place to be. Not much has changed in the take-charge culture of today where gentleness is seen as weakness. So why does Gentleness make it into the list of fruit that the Spirit develops in us? What was the Apostle Paul thinking when he included it? He was thinking of Jesus, and how this character trait was modeled first in his life and also in the lives of his disciples, paving the way for the church to embrace it as well. Speaker: Adam Mashni, 707 High School Ministry Pastor

 In Step, Week 7: Faithfulness | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:35:19

In Step, Week 7: Faithfulness At the end of our life, we all want to hear the Lord say to us, "Well done good and faithful servant!" (Matthew 25:21) What is faithfulness? What does it look like for the Christian? Along with those questions, this week we'll also seek to uncover the ancient mystery of what a chainsaw has to do with being faithful. Speaker: Brent Buttermore, Missions Pastor

 In Step, Week 6: Goodness | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:38:11

In Step, Week 6: Goodness God is the source of all goodness. Indeed, he defines what goodness is and he calls us to show it to others. Of course, this is easier said than done. In this message, Pastor Rick shares three steps we can take to consistently reflect God's goodness to a world that needs it. Speaker: Rick Barry, The Rock Middle School Ministry Pastor

 In Step, Week 5: Patience | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:30:40

In Step, Week 5: Patience Let's face it, we don’t like to wait. This makes having patience very difficult in our culture. First molded by God toward us, patience is the Spirit-generated ability to bear with, endure, and wait. This week, we'll examine what biblical patience looks like lived out? Speaker: Adam Schultz, Sozo Young Adult Ministry Pastor

 In Step, Week 4: Kindness | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:43:21

In Step, Week 4: Kindness It seems that everywhere we look in culture, people are talking about kindness. Whether it's on a t-shirt, in a new book, or a way to pay it forward, kindness is everywhere. This tells us two things: that people respond to kindness and that the world is full of a lot of unkindness. Have we missed the mark on what kindness means? This week, we will take a look at the spiritual fruit of kindness and unpack what it looks like to exercise God's kindness through the powerful story of David and Mephibosheth. Speaker: Charlie Koopman, Worship & Creative Arts Pastor

 In Step, Week 3: Peace | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:39:41

In Step, Week 3: Peace The peace that Jesus provides surpasses understanding, as evidenced by the event in Luke 8 where we find Him in a boat with the disciples during a tumultuous storm. This week we'll seek to answer the following three questions. What is biblical peace? How do we get peace? How do we experience this peace daily? Speaker: Rick Barry, The Rock Middle School Ministry Pastor

 In Step, Week 2: Joy | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:39:13

In Step, Week 2: Joy Joy is something hard to define, but we know it when we feel it. If you look Joy up in the dictionary it just says “extreme happiness,” but I think we all know joy is more than happiness – it is deeper, broader, more enduring, more fulfilling, and is connected to core things, not circumstances. But here's the question: where do we get it? Speaker: Paul Jenkinson, Milford Campus Pastor

 In Step, Week 1: Love | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:32:18

In Step, Week 1: Love Beginning this weekend, our summer series will explore what it means to keep in step with the Spirit. Each week we'll examine an aspect of the fruit the Spirit produces in our lives. This first week we'll talk about “LOVE” and ask ourselves, "What does it really mean to love my neighbor?" In his letter to the Galatians, as the Apostle Paul is addressing the basics of the Christian life, some questions arise. Are we to add a bunch of rules so that following Jesus becomes legalism? Are we to take advantage of the freedom we have in Christ and not care about how we live? Paul would say there’s a third way. Speaker: Adam Mashni, 707 High School Ministry Pastor

Made For More | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:28:03

Made For More It is possible to do the right things and end up in the wrong place? That's the question Aaron Hicks asks in his message, Made for More. What we'll discover is that obedience involves a surrender of your plans in exchange for the plans God has for you. Guest Speaker: Aaron Hicks, Pastor at Rise Church in Romulus, Michigan

God With Us Epilogue: The Three Gardens | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:26:09

God With Us Epilogue: The Three Gardens The message of the Bible is really pretty simple. God lost something, and He wants it back. That’s the story in 8 words. And while it is a big love story, God tells it in a lot of little chapters. As we complete our God With Us journey, we take one last look at this love story by observing the three gardens where the major acts in the story play out. The three gardens are spaced perfectly in the story — one at the beginning, one in the middle, and one at the end. When you stand in these gardens, the whole love story unfolds. This message is the conclusion of our God With Us series where Pastor Bob walks us through the entire Bible. 00:00:00 Introduction 00:02:04 Song: Go So Loved 00:06:12 Song: What A Beautiful Name 00:11:40 Message Part 1 00:29:37 Song: Lost to the Night 00:34:22 Message Part 2 00:45:41 Song: How Deep The Father's Love For Us 00:49:53 Message Part 3 00:59:03 The Worship Medley: Reckless Love / O Come to the Altar / Great Are You Lord 01:05:07 Song: Graves Into Gardens 01:10:48 Transition 01:14:40 The Blessing

God With Us: Revelation, Week 4 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:44:44

God With Us: Revelation, Week 4 God With Us Jesus repeatedly said that He would come a second time. Here is the fulfillment of His promise. This final act of revelation and judgment sees the Son of God descending from heaven to establish His righteous rule upon the Earth. In one powerful appearing He destroys the remnants of Satan’s kingdom in the battle of Armageddon, after which He establishes His righteous administration upon the Earth for a period of 1,000 years, prior to the onset of the eternal kingdom. This message is part of our God With Us series where Pastor Bob walks us through the entire Bible.

God With Us: Revelation, Week 3 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:55:13

God With Us: Revelation, Week 3 The Counterfeit Kingdom From the Garden of Eden forward it has been Satan’s intention to thwart God’s rule on Earth and to establish his own kingdom. This was the offer he made to Jesus during the wilderness temptations. In the last days, a final conflict will ensue between the kingdom of God and the kingdom of Satan. These chapters show that conflict unfolding in the final 7-year tribulation period on Earth, leading up to the return of Jesus. This message is part of our God With Us series where Pastor Bob walks us through the entire Bible.

God With Us: Revelation, Week 2 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:47:19

God With Us: Revelation, Week 2 Jesus’ 2nd “Triumphal Entry” While the first three chapters of Revelation deal with the past and present, the remainder of the book focuses on the future. It opens with John being caught up to the throne room of heaven where he will be given visions of the final events leading up to the 2nd coming of Christ. The time has come for those on earth to give an account for their rejection of the gracious offer of God’s love, demonstrated so clearly in the cross of His Son, Jesus Christ. This message is part of our God With Us series where Pastor Bob walks us through the entire Bible.

God With Us: Revelation, Week 1 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:46:39

God With Us: Revelation, Week 1 The Glorified Lord Addresses His Churches The book of Revelation is about the return of Christ and the revealing that His is the King of kings and Lord of lords. That's what "The apocalypse of Jesus Christ" means - the unveiling of Jesus Christ. While the words of Revelation were for the whole world to read, they were originally sent to the seven churches of Asia Minor, over whom the author, John, presided as bishop. The exalted Lord’s first order of business was to address the current condition of these churches He calls His “lampstands.” They were His witnesses to the world, thus He was concerned with their condition and the quality of the light they are shining forth. This message is part of our God With Us series where Pastor Bob walks us through the entire Bible.

God With Us: Later Letters, Week 13 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:41:02

God With Us: Later Letters, Week 13 Walking in the Truth Much like a modern postcard, Second and Third John are very short letters that would have fit on a single sheet of papyrus. John's brevity was due to his audience - people that he was hoping to visit "face to face" in the near future. Second John is addressed to “the chosen lady,” likely a reference to the church in a certain city. Third John is addressed to Gaius, who was a leader in a local church (equivalent to a modern day “pastor”). Both letters continue a theme from First John, namely the need for believers to “walk in truth” amidst heresies that were threatening the churches. This message is part of our God With Us series where Pastor Bob walks us through the entire Bible.
