Earth Magic Radio with Dr. Steven Farmer

In temperate zones the cross quarter day of February 1st is considered the true beginning of spring. In the Celtic Year, it was called Imbolc or Oimelc, which refers to the Ewe’s flow of milk signaling the return of spring, in spite of it still being fiercely cold in many parts of Europe and the United States. Dr. Farmer will offer some suggestions from his book Sacred Ceremony for honoring this initial emergence of the life-giving forces of spring. He’ll also take requests for readings from his Power Animal, Messages from Your Animal Spirit Guides, or Earth Magic oracle cards.

We’re one of the few cultures in the world that doesn’t pay attention to our ancestors, other than analyzing our relationships with our parents in psychotherapy. Yet our ancestors, those of our lineage who are in spirit world as well as those ancestral spirits that inhabit the land where we live, can help us heal and in doing so, help our descendants heal. Steven will guide listeners through an exercise to help heal the unhealthy influences of our genetic lineage that will in turn positively affect not only our descendants but others in our family.

The vibrational frequency with which our physical bodies resonate is greatly influenced by the soul body, that aspect of our being that is most directly connected to Source. When you go through any truly traumatic experience, there is risk that a “chunk” of the soul body will leave and find refuge in an etheric reality (also called non-ordinary reality) for safekeeping. With the help of spirit guides the task is to locate those soul fragments and return them to the individual so they can integrate into the central soul, resulting in a greater sense of wholeness and completeness. The second half Dr. Farmer will lead listeners in a meditation for manifesting the life you want to live this next year. Lastly, he will also take caller’s questions and requests for intuitive readings if time permits.

This is the darkest part of the solar cycle, one where there are several cultural activities that remind us that the sun is on its way back. Dr. Farmer will describe the various historical foundations upon which this festive period is based, particularly ancient winter solstice celebrations that our ancestors participated in. There was a radio show from the 1930s that was popular before television took over called THE SHADOW, about a crime-fighter with psychic powers. It started with a sinister laugh followed by the narrator’s opening, “Who knows what evil lurks in the minds of men? THE SHADOW KNOWS!” followed again by that sinister laugh. Okay, so not necessarily evil, but how do the shadows in our own consciousness—those aspects of our character and personality that are denied or remain hidden from our awareness—affects others and us? Dr. Farmer will talk about how to bring those shadows into conscious awareness and thereby help us to become whole.

What is true fear and what is its purpose? How do you tell the difference between fear and anxiety? What about a panic episode? Often we find the root source is from earlier traumatic experiences that are now our conditioned instinctual responses. Steven will offer some insights to these questions and share some time-tested ways to manage these and ultimately heal them.
