Listen as Derek, Craig and I talk about what happened at our respective tables. Click here for the link. Stage 7 - Shut the Mouth, Kidnappings and a Senseless Massacre Ravengard suspects the broadsheet "Baldur's Mouth" is a  medium for codespeak amongst the thieves.  Will the characters confirm these suspicions?  People are kidnapped.  Not an uncommon occurance in Baldur's Gate, but not in 40 years have any of the kidnappers murdered their charges.  Bodies are coming up everywhere and ransoms are overinflated.  Will the characters be able to save the poor soul they are charged to find and return to the family. What is happening.  A simple protest turns into hundreds of dead.  Was it a happy trigger finger, or will the characters discover something more sinister in this senseless slaughter? We come back with a chalk full of goodies this week. What are your players going to do? Will they seek out the miscreants and bring them to justice?  How did they fare and how did they resolve this situation? This place is getting out of hand, people are now allowed to DUEL!!  Upper city forlk are using swords while the lamplighters are defending themselves with candles.  Fear not Ravengard will have your head for any type of infringement. Craig comes back to us with a chalk full of goodies. What are your players going to do? Will they seek out the miscreants and bring them to justice? Stage 5 - Upper City Lockout and Protectionism The rich are passing laws to make them richer and the poor are being excluded.  The poor retaliate and impose extra taxes on the fine goods sold at the Wide.  Who is going to win?  Who cares?  There are other things happening in the Undercellar and people are going to talk.  Sounds like a boring week...or is it. Only one of us played this week, yet managed to take (in my opinion) a sad encounter and turn it into a nice piece of work. Craig was unable to join us this week and he will be chock-full of details of what is happening at his table next week. What are your players going to do? Session 7 - Vault of Song Last week the party was busy.  Chitines all over the place, and webs galore.  The plus of all this is that the party(if they were smart for two cents) find a magic item on a supposedly sacrificed Zhent soldier. This week the party moves down into the lower levels and get into the Vault of Song proper.  Signs of the passing of Phoedele and her cronies are everywhere.  The players encounter upstream upside-down fountains, statue puzzles and old scriptorium where they have the potential for greater power. After all of this, the party moves into the chamber of the crystal well and fight a dragon construct and some Zhent soldiers. Once they defeat the enemies, the party will then move on to the next room. Listen to what happened at our table.  What happened at yours? Tell us of any memorable events at the table.  Are you playing next or 4th? This weeks podcast is a little long, we had a lot to talk about. Click HERE for the audio file! Session 6 - Ruins of Uvaeren Last week the party was busy.  Interacting with the people from Peldan's Helm, the party managed to track down the Zhents and happen to stumble upon a group searching for the Diamond Dtaff themselves. The characters then follow the chimes and eventually end up at the ruins.  Only a few building remain, the rest having been obliterated. The first room is Chomylla's monument, a statue that was erected by Chomylla herself after the destruction of the beautiful city.  Touching the statue imparts a message to the  players of the horrors that befell this city and the cities surrounding the area. The characters can then move further into the ruins and can pass through the moon arch, a white marble wall whose top is carved in the shape of a crescent moon.  Webbing has been strung across and any player who passes through the arch can set of a tripwire trap that shoots poisoned darts at the party. Surviving this the party bump into a body strung up on webs...a Zhent soldier.  After investigation, they find some cool stuff on the dude. They then stumble upon the lair of the Chitines. These pale folk with four spindly arms are up on the webs and attack the party as soon as they move into the lair.  What happens next is up to your table. Listen to what happened at our table.  What happened at yours? Tell us of any memorable events at the table.  Are you playing next or 4th? This weeks podcast is a little long, we had a lot to talk about.  Stick with it to the end because we talk about how to modify the encounters, throwing ideas out there for way to overcome the "extended rest" the party is supposed to take. Follow us where we once again talk about the good, the bad, and the ugly of this season of D&D Encounters: Search for the Diamond Staff W - Chitine Warriors S - Chitine Scouts C - Chitines If you like this article, head over to the site for more great articles, or just keep reading the feed. Click HERE for the audio file! Session 5- Rogue Agents Last week the party met Barcero and his cronies.  The party either avoided combat entirely by diplomicizing him, or plain defeated him with their weapons of mass destruction.  Regardless of how the situation panned out, the party either make their way back to Hap to talk to Imani about what has happened, or head directly to Peldan's Helm in pursuit of the Zhents. Arriving at Peldan's Helm, the characters are able to interact with the town on some of the recent activities and people coming through or around the town.  If the characters were successful in asking the correct questions the gathered that the Zhents have passed through and were carrying something long wrapped in blankets.  The party could have also gathered that the Cult of the Dragon is hot on the Zhents tail also. With this knowledge and the possible shortcuts provided by the Ranger of Peldan's Helm, the characters confront the cultists violently or diplomatically... it is up to them. If you wish to skip this part fast-forward to minute - 21.03 Session 4 - The Ghost Hold After last week's first meeting with the true force behind the attacks on Hap, the characters discover a letter by a man named Barcero.  Phoedele is to meet Barcero at an old decrepit building or estate called Sandersal Manor to hand over the Diamond Staff.  The character may or may not report back to Imani and regardless of what they do, spend a day or two travelling to Battledale where the mansion is located. The characters arrive to see the place has been gutted by fire and flame and are left to explore the area.  After some exploration, the characters encounter Barcero and his Dread Protectors, also surrounded by his Shadar-kai Chainfighters.  Barcero is not immediately hostile towards the characters and the encounter at this point can go any way.
