Sameer Barakat a 19-year-old boy died after initially being in critical condition when he was shot in the head in the Albany Park neighborhood on the Northwest Side of Chicago early Sunday. He was with his father in the 4900 block of North Whipple Street about 2:40 a.m. when he was shot in the head, police News Affairs Officer Jose Estrada said. Sameer Barakat, of the 4900 block of North Whipple Street, was pronounced dead at Illinois Masonic Medical center at 9:04 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
