 Maggie Najera - Surviving in Lay Ministry - BO #4 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:07:37

As a volunteer leader, you may feel like everyone needs you - NOW. How can you take care of what needs to be done while still maintaining your own sanity!? It is possible to pursue the calling God has on your life, while still maintaining a balanced life? - God wouldn't have it any other way. Maggie has been volunteering her time leading the Children's Ministries at Grandview Assembly of God for the past 5 years. She has a passion for kids and seeing them live out their faith everyday. She seeks to help guide families in taking the position as their child's primary spiritual leader. She believes that when God calls you, He will also equip you. With that knowledge she can wear many "hats" in her everyday life. She's been married to Jorge since the summer of 1997. Together they have 4 kids: Abby (d. 7/2002), Cathy (10), Jorge (8), and Jeremiah (4).

Educational Psychology… Child Sociology … Physical and Spiritual Development Process… Trying to understand all this can make anyone feel like a dummy. This workshop will help you focus in on key elements that make your preschool and nursery a success for you, your volunteers and families. Lonnetta and Stacy serve dozens of families as they minister to over 100 children, 5 years old and younger, every weekend. Lonnetta has served at Life Center as Early Childhood Director, overseeing all ministry to preschoolers and younger, for over a year. She has been a key leader in preschool ministry for over 7 years. She got her start in Early Childhood ministry as a volunteer in her child’s class, and brought that fresh perspective to her team. Lonnetta is continuing her education at Northwest University, working toward her Bachelors Degree in Ministry Leadership. Stacy has served as nursery coordinator (for three 3 yrs.) as well as preschool coordinator (for 2 years) at Life Center.  John Scheline - Never Drink Starbucks Alone - BO #1 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:43:55

In our ministry, it is important to build teams around us to successfully master our call to reach children and families. In this workshop, we will focus on how to build a lifelong community of colleagues, contacts, friends, and mentors to help you achieve what God has called you to. Social networking goes beyond Facebook into mainstream Starbucks and suddenly you have a team that is an unstoppable force for the Kingdom of God. John and Pam have been Family Pastors at Faith Assembly for 8+ years. They have a passion for families and worship. In just over eight years, the children’s ministry has gone from a childcare facility to an integral part of the overall Sunday Ministry at Faith. Each week they produce a Family Experience where the kids get to bring their parents to worship on their level. John has helped navigate through major changes here at Faith, and through it all, stayed focused on his passion and dedication to families. He believes it is more important what parents do at home than what is done at church.

Patty Moreno - Beyond The Ashes - becoming a wounded healer | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:49:28

In this world you will have troubles…Wow, don’t you just love these words of reassurance? But linked with this realistic description of life is our hope: “Take heart, for I have overcome the world.” Sure, this is great news, but how do we link that truth to our own devastating experiences in order to somehow find God’s unchanging purpose? During this workshop Patty will uncover the truths that create ministry from our misery! Patty Moreno enjoys the profound joys and crazy challenges that come with the territory of being married for 25 years and mothering four teenage children. Her family breathes wind into her sails (and gives her a lot of material for messages!) as she ministers throughout the United States and abroad in church, retreat, and conference settings. Patty’s life is an epistle of God’s unfailing grace through devastating storms; and with that grace, she boldly ministers to those navigating through various degrees of pain and doubt. With refreshing humor mixed with profound depth, she engages the heart of every listener to embrace the hope and purpose Christ can bring beyond the ash heaps of suffering we often face.
